About:
Evelyn (Evie) came into care with her sister.
She had sustained an accident the day prior after she climbed up the fly screens and fell down, landing on her back quite hard – after that she wasn’t able to walk properly. Her owners took her to the vet who suggested euthanasia. Not satisfied with this answer, they reached out to us, and we took them both on.
When she first arrived, she was barely able to move her legs or walk at all, which concerned us.
We took her to one of our BFF vets and she had an xray which revealed (thankfully) that there were no broken bones, and the vet suspected she had nerve damage. She was given some pain relief and given instructions for strict crate rest for up to 4 weeks.
Week by week she improved – now 2 months down the track she gets around amazing well! Her back legs are still a little wobbly, and sometimes when she runs too fast her back legs “drift”, but she can do everything a normal kitten can do.
Evie is the definition of an active kitten. Not just a little but active, this girl is like the energizer bunny – she goes and goes and goes – has a small nap then goes again! She is fine with other cats after a couple of days, and absolutely adores dogs, and plays with the Cavvie puppy in her foster home. We call her a dog-cat, and she really is!
She is a stunning little kitten with an amazing and fun personality, and you will just fall in love with her.
Evie needs to go to a home where there is at least 1 other active animal for her to play with – when she’s by herself she gets depressed so she really needs company – this can be a young cat, or a young gentle dog who wants a kitten friend.
Come and meet Evie, you won’t be disappointed! Please complete the meet and greet form if you would like to interview for the position of Evie’s slave – meet’n’greet form.
