About:

Winky came to BFF from an industrial site on the GC, where most of the cat had only experienced minimal human interaction.
Winky was born with 2 eye issues – She had microphthalmia (small underdeveloped eye) in 1 eye, and eyelid agenesis (no eyelids causing eyelashes and fur to rub on eye ball) in both eyes. The eye with microphthalmia was removed as it was non functional. Unfortunately because the eyelid agenesis hadn’t been addressed when she was young, significant scarring occurred to her “good eye” leaving her with only minimal site. She underwent 2 surgery’s to undergo cryotherapy to freeze the fur and eyelashes, and is now much more comfortable. We aren’t sure how much vision she does have, but it certainly doesn’t affect her, and she does everything that a cat with full eyesight will do.
Being only minimally socialised during her life, she is initially scared of new people and new situations. However given the time and love needed for cats like this, she has learnt to trust her foster family and now loves pats, and will meow and put her hand out to you when its dinner time.
During her early life Winky never had toys, or beds, or regular food – after being in care for a while now she has learnt to love all of these things. She plays with toys now which is just beautiful to see, and loves sleeping on her special cat bed. She loves being around other cats and is learning to play with them.
Winky deserves the best life after her less than ideal start, and is seeking a loving sole who will look past her original shyness and is prepared to take the time to allow her to trust, and she will reward you 10 fold in love – trust us, you won’t be sorry, there is something very special about this little lady.

Please note: As all our cats live in foster homes, a completed Meet & Greet application is required before we can arrange a visit- meet’n’greet form.
