Cecile – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Cecilie
DOB: 11/08/24
Gender: Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Everton Park
Snuggle Scope: Snuggly & learning to be picked up/held
Cat Scope: Good with other cats
Dog Scope: Untested with dogs
Child Scope: Untested with children

About:

Cecilie (pronounced Cecilia or Cecily depending on your part of the world!) came to BFF as part of our Last Litter Program.

Since her (much larger) brother has been adopted, Cecilie has had a chance to let her big kitten energy really show.

She is the most beautiful kitten on the outside and inside, with stunning orange eyes, a heart on her nose and beautiful white markings on her coat.

She loves to do zoomies, chase toy wands and her absolute favourite thing is her KMart tunnel which provides hours of entertainment for her (and her carer).
Being raised in a house with a couple of older (and wiser?) cats, she’s learned a few lessons; that she never has to fight for food anymore, and nighttime is time for bed, not for zoomies.
While she’s not a fan of being picked up or carried, she is a complete snuggle bug and will happily join you in bed. She seems to know when you need some kitten love, flopping stretched out across you as big as she can make herself, purring her little heart out. For such a little lady, she has an enormous purr. Did you know that cat purrs are good for us and som people think they also have healing properties?
Cecilie is an absolute joy and would it into any household.

About:
Chandler is a gorgeous tabby and white boy, with a huge personality! He loves nothing better than wrestling with his sisters, and strutting around with his toy fish, mouse or ball in his mouth.
He loves climbing to the top of his towers, and his favourite spot to sleep is sprawled on the window sill watching the world go by, and catching the breeze. He is the most confident of his litter, exploring the house, the secure outdoor enclosure, and plays well with the other cats, kittens and dogs in the house.
He is a great eater, and uses his litter tray beautifully. He is very curious, and very playful and spends from the minute he wakes up to the minute he goes to bed racing around the house finding new ways to amuse himself. Gender : Male
Breed: DMH
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Redcliffe
Snuggle scope: snugglepuss
Cat scope: Good but needs young cat
Dog scope: Would be fine with correct introductions
Child scope: ages 8+

About:

Cinnamon is a gorgeous champagne floof that takes after his namesake – a little bit spicy and a lot sweet. This beautiful boy is on the hunt for his perfect match. Are you the one?
If you are looking for a cat that:
* gives you space
* is quiet and calm
* is low maintenance
Then, Cinnamon is NOT the cat for you.
However, if you are looking for a cat that:
* you can have a conversation with
* will entertain you with endless antics
* is a floofy snuggle bug
Then Cinnamon might just be your guy! He is bursting with personality, love and fun.
Because Cinnamon was a bottle fed baby, he’s a little bit delicate in the dietary department and needs good quality food. He will also need regular brushing and grooming to ensure his beautiful coat stays pristine. However, he will reward this extra care and devotion with the loudest purrs and smooches in spades. Cinnamon loves playmates but is still learning how to play gently so would be great with another young cat and/or cat savvy older children.

Name: Coal
DOB : 25/9/23
Gender : Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Northgate
Snuggle scope: snuggly
Cat scope: Fine
Dog scope: Fine
Child scope: fine with gentle hands

About:

A beautiful black fuzzy house panther, go no further to find this gorgeous boy for you. He, like his brothers loves to chase the other kittens up the hallway or you find him monkeying up the cat tower. Along with his brothers Sebastian and Huxley he is the life of the party, if you would like to adopt 2 kittens, let Coal be one of your choices as it means it will be a good one. The scratch post is a favourite climbing apparatus and this playful kitty loves boxes and lying on top of his brothers in a kitten puddle He snuggles up with as many kittens as he can find in the smallest of spaces and is generally in the bottom of the kitten snuggle pile along with his brother Sebastian another house panther. Coal is completely black hence the name.
Coal gets along with his foster siblings the cats and the kittens and even his dog foster brother. He likes to snuggle in a fluffy cat bed even, actually especially if there is a kitten or two already in it. This little man manages to monkey up the bed and curl up next to you, making his presence known by meowing at you until you acknowledge his existence on the bed, or in the kitchen or bathroom……wherever he is he announces his arrival.
He has a big purr and like most kittens loves his own voice.
Coal would make great addition to any family dynamic whether to complete any family either looking for their first kitty or extending their kitty family. He’s such a playful little boy and gives everyone cuddles.
Coal is looking forward to moving to his forever home when his vet work is complete and you certainly won’t be sorry if you take him home.

Eden – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Eden
DOB: 15/11/2023
Gender: Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Kallangur
Snuggle scope: Loves a pat and to snuggle in bed
Cat scope: Great with correct introductions
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Untested, not suited to noisy homes

About:

In stark contrast to the typical adoption profile, Eden’s foster Dad has instead set in place the following ‘10 Rules for Adopting My Foster Kitten, Eden’. The poor guy is smitten, and this compact cutie has him wrapped around her finger!
  1. Respect Her Royalty: Eden may have ended up in a rural pound, abandoned by her owners and found severely emaciated, but she has always embraced her inner princess. She carries herself with an air of royalty, always looking impeccably put together in an adorably sweet package right the way down to her tiny little tippy toes.
  2. Understand Her Past: Remember, she was transported to us weighing less than a third of what she should for her age, after being let down by people and left to fight for her life. Her journey has made her strong and confident, but she’s also a little bit delicate. She’s still very small for her age, and it’s uncertain if she’ll ever reach full size, but we think she’s perfect the way she is.
  3. Give Her Attention: Eden can be independent and happy in her own company, but more than anything she loves to be loved. She tends to shy away from the hustle and bustle of the main house, preferring to seek out quiet spots alone so it is important to take the affection to her whenever you can. Pats will always be gratefully received and rewarded with head boops, teeny tiny little biccies, and endless purrs!
  4. Playtime is Sacred: While Eden enjoys playing with toys on her own, she occasionally indulges in hallway zoomies with her foster brothers, and with some very impressive speed! Make sure to encourage her playtime, whether she’s chasing a toy mouse or sprinting through the house, her road to recovery requires re-development of lost muscle mass so enrichment and a tower to climb is key.
  5. Bedtime is Special: At night, Eden loves to sleep on our chests, curled up in the crook of our arms, or snuggled into our necks. It’s her way of feeling safe and loved, even if she’s so light you sometimes forget she’s there! If you’re lucky enough to share this bonding time with her, cherish it and you’ll be rewarded with endless trust and affection.
  6. Be Patient: Eden can be a little shy at first. Give her time to warm up to you, and you’ll see her true affectionate nature emerge. Patience and gentleness are key, and with correct introductions to a new home she’ll be part of the family in no time..
  7. Introduce Her Correctly: While Eden respects the space of other cats and fits into new dynamics easily, she expects the same courtesy so correct introductions to other pets are vital. She’s very non-confrontational and tolerant of other cats, but she appreciates her solitude while she’s getting to know them.
  8. Gentle Children Only: Eden would do best in a home with older, gentle children only. High-energy, younger kids might be too much for her to handle as she appreciates a peaceful and understanding presence.
  9. Spoil Her: Eden has adapted quickly to being a spoilt house cat. She deserves all the love and care in the world after such an awful start to life. But remember, we’ve raised a princess not a diva, so she will give back tenfold in the form of utterly ridiculous, high-pitched squeal inducing, puss in boots style cuteness. Good luck saying no to that face!
  10. Love Her Unconditionally: Above all, Eden needs a home that will love and provide for her for the rest of her long and happy life. She’s been through a lot and deserves the best. If you’re ready to give her the royal treatment she deserves, you’ll have a loyal and loving companion by your side.
If you think you have what it takes to follow these rules and provide Eden with the love and care she deserves, then please click on the link below to meet her. But you might want to be quick in case her foster dad beats you to it!

Esmeralda – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:
Name: Esmeralda
DOB: 10/10/2023
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Northgate
Snuggle scope: Very shy but friendly once she trusts you
Cat scope: Great with right introduction
Dog scope: Not tested
Child scope: Finds children overwhelming

About:
Hi, my name is Esmeralda, and I’m as beautiful as my name is. I’m a very sweet girl with a purr like an engine. I’m the only girl among 4 brothers, so I know how to throw down with the boys.
I absolutely love other cats and am usually off causing some sort of mischief with them, playing with them. I’m definitely not a solo diva, I like to have a buddy.
I’m all about food, all the time. I love it. I know when it’s dinner time and will come screaming with excitement when I hear my food. I like to weave between my carers feet in an attempt to help her hurry up with the food.
I’m quite shy, and it may take me time to warm up. So I will need a patient family who will take the time (my time) to allow me to build my trust up with you. But once I do, I’m an extremely sweet girl. I have grown up with a human child, but I would prefer a quiet calmer home as sometimes the noise of a child is a lot for me.
But I can ensure that once you have gained the trust of this beautiful girl, you will be rewarded 10 fold. She has soo much love to give, but I just need time to trust.
If you think you can give this little girl the time and patience she requires to blossom into the incredible beauty she is, come meet her.

Ethan – Male Siamese Cross

Adoption Profile:

Name: Ethan
DOB: 01/12/2023
Gender: Male
Breed: Siamese Cross
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Kallangur
Snuggle scope: Hand shy, needs further socialisation
Cat scope: Very friendly
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Untested

About:

Are you able to open your heart and home to a truly special feline friend? Meet Ethan, a handsome young man who has overcome incredible odds and is now ready to find his forever home.

Ethan’s journey began on the streets, where he was found as a very unwell, emaciated, and unsocialised kitten. Once he came into care he underwent months of recovery including multiple blood transfusions. Today, you wouldn’t recognize the sickly kitten he once was! Ethan has grown into a healthy, playful, and spirited cat who’s eager to share his new zest for life with a loving family.

So what’s the catch with a handsome boy like Ethan? His past has made him quite wary of humans, his lack of early human contact and the many weeks of necessary but confusing medical treatments left him understandably timid of people. He’s still learning that touch is ok, however Ethan’s gentle nature shines through and he’s never aggressive. He’s looking for a cat-savvy, patient forever family who can provide a quiet home with plenty of hidey holes and spaces for him to feel secure.

Despite his shyness, Ethan is quickly gaining confidence and he’s become quite the little shadow! Following his foster mum and dad around the house with curiosity, he’s always eager to watch the action. He’s even turned his foster mum’s touch training into a playful sport, bunny hopping just out of reach or gently batting at her hands when they’re offered to him—never with claws, just a fun and gentle game. When he feels secure in a covered hideaway or bed, Ethan has just begun allowing gentle pets on his back and tail. It’s a sign of his growing trust and a glimpse of the affectionate companion he can become for the right family.

Ethan loves the company of other playful cats, and is very respectful of their personal space if they want to be left alone. He has a cheeky spirit that shines through in the bird-like chirps he emits when confidently exploring the house, seeking out someone or something to play with. He loves to give chase and be chased back, his zoomies are a sight to behold, and he is obsessed with all of his many toys. Ethan can play for hours, so another cat friendly feline companion that can match his energy would be ideal in his new home. Ethan has not lived with children and would be unsuitable for young families due to his timid nature. He has not lived with dogs either, however would likely be ok with quiet, docile dogs that would let him approach them on his own terms.

If you have the time, patience, and experience to commit to working with Ethan, you’ll be rewarded with the love and companionship of a truly special cat. Deep down there’s a snuggle bug waiting to emerge, and with the right home Ethan will blossom into the affectionate, playful, and loyal friend he’s meant to be.

Ezra – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:
Name: Ezra
DOB: 20/11/2023
Gender: Male
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Cannon Hill
Snuggle scope: Likes his feet planted on the ground but purrs when held
Cat scope: good, but doesn’t always understand social cues
Dog scope: Not of fan of seeing the dog through the window in his foster home
Child scope: Best suited to a home with older children (12+) or no kids

About:This handsome little guy with his gorgeous caramel tiger stripes was reported scared and all alone hiding out in a shed crying each night for help. Upon coming into care he hid for the first 24 hours looking for an escape route but soon realized that he was safe and fed and most importantly loved. He even braved his first vet visit and was given a clean bill of health.
Named Ezra meaning help and strength, he has shown he is a purr machine when shown love. He’s still nervous of loud noises and sudden movements and is timid around strangers but he’s come a long way in a short period, arching his back for tail scratches and wanting head bops from his foster mummy and his new foster fur family.
He’s loving playtime with his foster furfriends and is learning how to be a cat after being on his own at such a young age.
If you are a cat loverlooking for a sweet but at times timid kitten who you can continue showing lots of love and patience to so he can continue to grow confident and reach his full potential then please click on the link below.

Franklin – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Franklin
DOB : 29/11/23
Gender : Male
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Bonogin, Gold Coast
Snuggle scope: Super doper smoocher and snuggler
Cat scope: Takes a while for him to adjust to other cats. Best suited to a home with a small number of cats, or he would also be happy as a solo cat.
Dog scope: Fine with the small dog in the foster home
Child scope: Untested but would be fine in a home with older children
Medical note: Franklin came into care suffering from Nutritional secondary hyperaparathyroidism. Due to this condition he had suffered several breaks to his legs and hips that weren’t treated and had started to heal (but not in the correct position).

About:

Oh goodness where do we start with this young man….
Franklin was surrendered to a local vet and came into our care in January 2024. He was in a great deal of pain and couldn’t walk. Xrays showed his bones were translucent and like glass – the reason for this was due to lack of appropriate nutrition. He had multiple broken bones that had started healing in awkard position. Unfortunately surgery was not an option for him, so he went to a specialist carer and put on strict crate rest and high quality food to help the bones start healing.
After months of dedicated care and good quality food, his bone density is much improved and he is an active and healthy cat. Unfortunately the previous breaks have left him with some permanent deformities. His body looks a little different to most cats – he head is normal size, he has a broad chest (a bit like a muscly bull dog), but a skinny little butt – but we think he’s perfect. He doesn’t know that he’s different, and he simply loves life.
Frankie is pure joy. Despite his awful start to life, he is a happy little fellow and everyone that meets him falls head over heals in love with him. He can be a little tentative with new people, but this doesn’t last long and his love of humans beats any hesitation he has. He loves his carer, and his favourite place to sleep is on the bed cuddled up in her arms. He isn’t too fond of being picked up and carried for too long, but when you are sitting down or in bed he loves to snuggle with you
Frankie was likely not raised around other kittens, so when he first arrived he was very “bitey”, using his teeth and claws to play, which has earned the nick names “land shark”, and “baby shark”. His carer has worked on this a lot and he has improved immensely since he first arrived and he tends to lick more now, but when he gets excited the teeth come out… this is never meant maliciously, it’s just his form of playing. So his new family will need to continue teaching him if his teeth come out to play. Due to this he would most likely be suited to a home with older children, or children who understand that he’s just playing.
He takes about 3-4 weeks to adjust to new cats, but when he becomes friends he loves to play with them and do zoomies which is hilarious to watch. He’s not much of a climber – he will climb to the lower level of the cat tree, but no higher than that. He has a little step thing to help him get onto the bed.
Frankie needs to be kept on a good quality diet for the rest of his life, and it will also be important not to let him get overweight due to his deformed bones. He may have some issues with arthritis as he ages which will likely need injections for this, so this needs to be considered prior to adoption.
Frankie is simply the most beautiful, gentle and perfect little cat you will ever meet, and would make an amazing addition to a dedicated cat loving home.

Huxley – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Huxley
DOB : 25/9/23
Gender : Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Northlakes
Snuggle scope: super snuggly
Cat scope: Fine
Dog scope: Fine
Child scope: would be fine with gentle hands

About:

Huxley thinks life is a playground for him to enjoy and enjoy it he does, whether it’s chasing another kitten up the hallway or monkeying up the cat tower Huxley is in his element. The scratch post is also a favourite climbing apparatus and this playful kitty loves playing with either kitties or toys. He is so funny to watch with his antics, he amuses himself for ages and amuses everyone around him. He snuggles up with the other 5 kittens in the smallest of spaces and is generally in the middle of the kitten snuggle pile. Huxley gets along with his foster siblings the cats and the kittens and even his dog foster brother. He likes to snuggle on your lap or if a lap isn’t readily available he snuggles in one of the cat beds even, actually especially if there is a kitten or two already in it. This little man manages to monkey up the bed and curl up next to his foster family, (people and cats). He has a big purr and like most kittens lives his own voice. Huxley would make great addition to any family dynamic whether to complete any family either looking for their first kitty or extending their kitty family. He’s such a playful little boy and gives everyone cuddles and you can feel his love emanating from his little heart. Huxley is looking forward to moving to his forever home when his vet work is complete and you certainly won’t be sorry if you take him home.

Irwin – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Irwin
DOB: 26/11/2023
Gender: Male
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Kallangur
Snuggle scope: Super smoocher
Cat scope: Great with proper introductions
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Great with gentle, older children

Medical Note: Irwin came into care emaciated and with severe cat flu as a kitten so is quite small for his age. Due to the severity of his flu symptoms, his 3rd eyelid remains slightly visible and he occasionally gets watery eyes. He is non-contagious to other cats and confirmed healthy by our vets, however he may present with mild flu symptoms at times of stress and after annual vaccinations. These symptoms usually resolve without any intervention, but a quick course of antibiotics may be needed after a big change such as moving house etc.

About:

Irwin came into care as an unsocialised kitten with no prior human contact, and was so critically ill that it was doubtful whether he would survive. He was initially (and understandably!) quite timid around people but has since learned that humans give the best cuddles, treats, and his favourite thing of all – kisses!
Irwin lives his life at double speed, he has developed a massive personality and always wants to be the centre of attention. Wherever his foster mum is, he’s always right there, chirping to be picked up for cuddles, weaving in and out of her legs, or shoving his entire face into whatever it is she’s doing (or eating!)
Irwin has no concept of personal space, but in the best way possible. He loves to climb up for snuggles and offers his little face for kisses at every opportunity. He is, however, also easily distracted and entertained by toys, or playing chase with foster brother Ethan. He will happily take himself off to his cat tower for a snooze when the house is quiet, so a home where his family work during the day is no issue.
While Irwin loves other cats, he will need to go to a home where any other pets are of a similar loving and playful temperament, or are placid enough to tolerate his frequent attempts to snuggle and wrestle with them. While he has come a long way on his journey to safety with BFF, he will need a calm and quiet space of his own for a few days when he goes to his forever home so he can get to know his new surroundings and family in his own time. Once he’s settled in, Irwin is guaranteed to entertain and love on his lucky new owners with every chance he gets.
Anyone who meets Irwin will fall in love with his big, round ‘Puss In Boots’ eyes, chirpy mews, rumbly purrs, and constant want for smooches. He would do best in a loving home where he gets lots of affection and feels safe and secure, ideally with another playful cat for company.
