Chloe – Female Ragdoll

Adoption Profile:

Name: Chloe
DOB: 02/03/2014
Gender: Female
Breed: Ragdoll
Adoption Fee: $150
Location: Albany Creek
Snuggle scope: Not a fan of being held but LOVES gentle pats and chin scratches. Loves sleeping on the human’s lap.
Cat scope: Loves other cats as long as they are relatively calm
Dog scope: Scared of dogs
Child scope: Untested, but would not have problems with gentle handling
Medical note: Chloe has idiopathic hypercalcemia. This means that Chloe has elevated calcium levels in her blood, she has had a complete work-up of tests and no cause can be found. Idiopathic hypercalcaemia is the most common cause of hypercalcaemia in cats. Chloe’s condition is currently managed through her diet. Ongoing she requires 6 monthly monitoring of her ionised calcium levels in her blood (next due end of September 2025) and a strict diet. Chloe must eat Hills C/D wet food as this diet has controlled calcium levels. Chloe still has some reduced menace response in her right eye – no obvious retinal changes though and her other vision checks are good. She may have some slightly reduced vision in the right eye that is permanent but does not affect her quality of life, nor need any treatment. Her carer also has not noted any visual deficits at home which is great. Veterinary Partners handout on hypercalcaemia

About:

Beautiful, stately, sophisticated yet playful cuddlebug looking for a forever home.

Chloe came into care after her owner had to be moved to a nursing home. She adjusted well and can spend hours on her human’s lap sleeping while getting chin and head rubs.

Even though she is 11 years old, the intensity of her play sessions and the speed of her running belie her age. She has an elderly, wise person vibe about her and is very good at “taking care” of her human by grooming him whenever she thinks he has been slacking in that department (he does not).

She also likes to supervise him when he is working on his laptop, and especially when he is “making” her food.

The way she carries herself, you’d think she has graduated from finishing school. She is quiet, relaxed, and only meows when she wants something specific (which, she is very good at communicating).

Even the way she walks is graceful.

There is no need to worry about leaving milk or butter or any other food on the table. She is least interested in eating our food. She eats only her food, and only when it is in the correct bowls.

She is very good with visitors, and other cats. However, she is not a fan of dogs at all. She prefers calmer, quieter places, but doesn’t mind noises from the kitchen or washing machine or vacuum cleaner etc.

She loves going on short evening walks on her harness and leash. She also loves sitting outside in the backyard sunbathing, looking at birds and chasing insects (all while being on her leash). She’d love to be part of a house where she can share her love in return for yours.

Please note: As all our cats live in foster homes, a completed Meet & Greet application is required before we can arrange a visit. Apply today meet’n’greet form

Marley – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Marley
DOB: 01/03/2015
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $150
Location: Mudgeeraba
Snuggle scope: Loves being nearby, but not a lap cat. Okay with being picked up.
Cat scope: Better as a solo cat
Dog scope: Unknown
Child scope: Older children preferred

About:

Marley and you?

This little lady, like her musical namesake is one pretty cool cat. She loves spending her days chilling out, looking out windows, watching the world go by.

She likes meeting new people and sidles up quickly for one of her favourite things in the world, a head scratch. In the evenings her favourite spots are by her human on the lounge or curled up at the end of the bed. Marley hasn’t shown much interest in laps, but with summer coming, who needs a lap warmer anyway. She does though love being nearby and will reward you with the sweetest little meow, or a lovely loud purr.

Marley is learning the wonders of play and has quite a workout chasing toys on sticks. She’ll often roll over to show her beautiful belly, but don’t fall into the trap of thinking she wants a belly rub, it’s her favourite game, grabbing any unsuspecting hand (gently of course).

Marley is an undemanding, sweet, relaxed girl who is responding very well to care. She will no doubt continue to blossom when she finds her forever people to show her the love that was missing from her last home.

Peyton – Male Ragdoll

Adoption Profile:

Name: Peyton
DOB: 9/2/10
Gender: Male
Breed: Ragdoll
Adoption Fee: $150
Location: Camp Hill
Snuggle scope: Ok on his terms, usually curls up to you when in bed. He allows to be picked up and cuddled though
Cat scope: Has lived with multiple cats in the past but given age and health conditions now needs his own space
Dog Scope: Untested
Child Scope: Untested but recommended kids over 12
Vet work: Completed
Ready to leave care: Now

Medical note – Peyton came into care with Best Friends Felines in February 2023. At the time he entered care he had severe gingivostomatitis which resulted in a full dental extraction. Peyton also has inflammatory bowel disease which is managed with a small dose prednisone every third day. Peyton is also deaf

About:

Peyton came into our care along with several other Ragdolls from an urgent care situation up north.

He was quite underweight and sickly looking as his mouth was so sore he wasn’t able to eat properly. His paws were brown from constantly pawing at his mouth and it looked like he hadn’t groomed himself in years. He had a condition called gingivostomatitis which was resolved by removing all of his infected teeth. He is now sitting at a good weight with a luscious, healthy coat which he grooms from time to time.

Despite his age he likes to play with cat wands and laser toys, thinks boxes are fun and has the occasional zoomies. He also loves to follow you from room to room, especially when it’s getting close to dinner time. He is a food motivated cat so will want you to share your dinner with him, especially if it’s chicken nuggets, his fave!

He is a very outgoing boy who will greet all visitors at the door and is open to a pat on his terms. Given that he was born deaf, he reacts a little bit differently than other cats so his owners will need time to get to know his behaviours and what he does or doesn’t like. He does take a couple days to get used to new environments and may seem spooked by objects and shadows as he navigates his surroundings.

He does have a spunky Ragdoll attitude and needs someone willing to look past his differences and be patient with him as his history with humans hasn’t been a kind one.

His purrs are heard throughout the whole house which go even louder when you’ve got food in your hand, it’s dinner time or he’s enjoying a really good pat. You will also hear grumbles from him while he’s eating if he is really enjoying the food.

Of a morning, if you aren’t up before him he will stand there staring at you, purring away until you awake from your slumber.

He does require regular grooming as he prefers not to do it himself and this does come with a bit of a challenge as he had never been groomed in the past. He does however tolerate his nails being trimmed which is also done regularly so that he doesn’t hurt anyone when he is grumpy.

Everyday is a fun day with Peyton, he does some of the most random, cutest things that you don’t expect. Everyone that meets him falls in love with his quirky personality even though he’s been known not to charm anyone.

Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $150
Location: Logan
Snuggle scope: Loves a cuddle and pats
Cat scope: Will coexist with non dominant cats
Dog scope: Untested, would be fine with correct introductions

About:

Raven is a gorgeous 11 year old black girl. She came into care because she was left behind when her family moved away.

Poor Raven was very confused and quite grumpy at first but has settled into her foster home quite well.

Being a senior girl, she isn’t too interested in toys but loves to snuggle up on a comfy bed. Raven loves attention and because she is always happy to see you, she will give you lots of head bops.

Raven is better suited to a home as either the only feline in the home or she will quite happily coexist with a calm non dominant cat.

Rosco – Male Burmese x DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Rosco
DOB: 16/03/2014
Gender: Male
Breed: Burmese x DSH
Adoption Fee: $150
Location: Bray Park
Snuggle scope: Very snuggly once settled, likes to sleep on your bed
Cat scope: Good with non-dominant cats
Dog scope: Not dog friendly
Child scope: Not suited to a home with young children

About:

Rosco was surrendered into care through no fault of his own and has recently celebrated his 11th birthday!

This handsome gentleman was initially timid upon arrival to his foster home, but within days his sweet personality started to shine through. Rosco purrs like a V12 engine and will soak up all the love you can give – he gives the best head boops and enjoys pats all over, including his belly! He sleeps on his foster carer’s bed every night and makes for a wonderful partner in crime for a good old binge on Netflix.

Rosco is not phased by the resident cats in his foster home, but due to his sweet, gentle personality, he would be suited to a quiet home with non-dominant feline friends, or as the King of the Castle. This senior gent is more interested in naps and snacks, rather than the rough and tumble of young playful cats or young children – he is very settled with the high school students and young adults who share his foster home. Rosco is very scared of dogs, so a canine free forever home is a must.

He LOVES tuna, salmon and anything seafood related – especially creamy treats, Greenies and Temptations. You will hear a sweet little chirpy meow as he sits by his food bowl – almost summoning his guardian to top it up, please. When eating his favourite foods, Rosco will purr and purr and purr – quite a funny sound combined with the lapping of food and the crunching of bikkies and treats!

He will steal your heart, this lovely man is a total sweetheart who would make a perfect work from home companion cat or best friend during his retirement years.
