About:
Maui is a beautiful British Short hair kitty, who sadly lost her eyesight when she was just a small kitten, so has been blind pretty much her entire life (she has had a double Enucleation, so both eyes have been removed and sewed shut).
When Maui first came into care she was quite stand-offish and unsure about life. Shes been in care for over 9 months now, and she is a different cat to the one that first came into care. She is now confident and outgoing, and loves her people. She even now goes up to visitors demanding pats, which is a complete 360 for her. She has amazed us with how her confidence has grown, and everyone who meets her thinks she is amazing. Her coat is now super soft and lush from the good quality diet she now receives.
Blind cats are magical creatures and will surprise you every single day with their resilience and how well they navigate their way around. Maui has only lived in single level dwellings so that would be the most ideal home for her, however a home with internal stairs would be considered in the right circumstances.
Maui didn’t know how to play when she first arrived, but now she loves toys and although shes completely blind, she always zero’s into where the toys are and has a good play. And goodness me she is 10/10 when it comes to catching bugs!
Maui does need a special home with humans that will promise to keep her safe and loved for the rest of her life – you won’t be sorry, this is an amazing little cat!
