Ada – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Ada
DOB: 18/06/2021
Gender: Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $159
Location: Ipswich
Snuggle scope: Content to be near you, not a lap cat (yet!)
Cat scope: Still skittish and defensive with kitties
Dog scope: does well, although sudden excitable movements earn a hiss of disapproval
Child scope: suited for older children
Vet work: Completed

About:

Miss Ada is still very much a kitten, but her time in the pound has left her a little reluctant with other cats yet.
She is a dainty sweetheart that is happy to cuddle near you but hasn’t worked up to sitting on laps (yet)… but if she sleeps in your room, you’ll be treated to a cuddly, warm kitten snoozing on your feet. She’s got the most adorable, teeny meow and she loves older kids. At times, she thinks she’s a dog and can be caught chasing her tail, and she has earned the nickname ‘spaghetti noodle’ because she turns into one and twists every which way.
Ada would probably blossom in a home where she could be the only feline owner.

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption fee: $159

At the age of 11, Adele found herself surrendered.
While obviously a little unsettled and uncertain of her situation, she fit into care almost instantly.
Adele is a sweet and very calm cat. She is quite affectionate, enjoying spending time next to you on the couch, floor and bed if she can.
Whenever she walks past you, she will give you a head bop and is quite chatty when she wants your attention.
She is quite inquisitive and will come looking for you if she hears you doing something that she isn’t involved in.
While she is a little older than some, she still has the energy to play with her toys and have the occasional run.

Ariat – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Ariat
DOB: 20/11/2019
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption fee: $159
Location: Greenslopes
Snuggle scope: Shy
Cat scope: Super curious, ok with another gentle cat
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Untested
Vet work: Completed

About:

Ariat came into care originally with her babies and a complete fear of humans. She has sent her babies off into the world sometime ago, and is slowly rediscovering herself.
Ariat needs someone to be understanding that she isn’t going to be a lap cat – but with lots of love, patience and some time there is no doubt she will be able to be a sweet companion for her adopter.
She is sweet and curious – she loves being around her foster humans often hiding under their desks or watching them from her bed while they work.
She has a cheeky side too – she loves playing with toys, and often “teaches” them how to swim in her water bowl.
She is surprisingly ok with other gentle cats with the correct introduction. Ariat would love to find a home with people who will understand and respect her boundaries, she is ok with older children as long as they do this.

Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $159
Location: Tambourine
Snuggle scope: On her terms
Cat scope: Great with other cats

Asha is a lap cat in disguise! She just hasn’t met the right human yet. Is it YOU?
Asha came into care having never felt the love of humans and didn’t trust us straight away. She has spent a lot of her time in care watching from a distance and learning that humans are ok.
She makes for a great companion as she chirps and chats away to you while beckoning you to her favourite spots in the house. For your patience with her, she will spend a lifetime repaying you with her gorgeous nature, soft coat and love in the form of leg smooches. While she will soak up the attention she deserves, she does prefer all four feet to stay on the ground.
While she prefers to be an independent girl some of the time, she would love to have a feline companion in her new home to spend her non-human time.

Betty – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Betty
DOB: 31/08/20
Gender: Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption fee:$159
Location: Norman Park
Snuggle scope: Independent
Cat scope: Will tolerate other cats
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Better suited older children
Vetwork: Completed

About:

Betty can be compared to the late Betty White in many ways. At a little over a year old she is independent and cheeky, but also possesses an undeniable sweetness to her that will warm your heart.
Betty finds herself very busy throughout her day. Her morning will start with her zooming around each room in the house, testing the durability of her toys. Then she’ll spy on the neighbours from the window and see what they’re up to. Midday is spent sleeping somewhere cool and quiet. In the evenings she’ll seek you out to catch up on whatever show you’re in the middle of. She certainly sounds like a Golden Girl to me.
Less of an affectionate lap cat, Betty gets her kicks from playing and exploring and seeing what you’re up to. (Betty would thrive in her own space in the evenings as that is when her best exploring is done). She always wants to know where you are and will happily laze or play in your vicinity. When she does come for a snuggle then, it is all the more special.
When Betty doesn’t want affection, she’ll be gentle but clear. A human companion/s with previous cat experience will therefore be valuable.
Betty will vocalise through her chips and meows, usually at a great event such as the presence of a bug on the flyscreen, your arrival home, some tasty gossip, or as your personal alarm clock. She is very easy to redirect through toys and food however to allow you some extra Zs.
Betty is looking for a human companion or companion with no children or older children. She is a pampered indoor cat who must continue to have an indoor lifestyle. As she considers herself the only cat in the world worth human affection, she would thrive as the only cat in a household.
Audacious, cheeky, beautiful, kind: sweet Betty will melt your heart.

Snuggle scope: Still learning to trust humans
Cat scope: does well with other cats
Dog scope: not tested
Child scope : not tested
Vet work: Completed

About:

Hi there. My name is Buffy. When I was brought into care I had my tiny babies with me. Now that they have grown up and flown the coop, I’m ready to find my forever home.
I am still learning how to trust humans. I have come a long, long way from the massive scaredy cat I was when I first got here. But I still have a way to go. I will hiss at you if I’m scared or not sure.
I love to spend my day sleeping on a comfy cat bed in the sunbeams, sometimes snuggled up to my foster brother. He is helping me learn how to trust my human.
I’ve also just realised that playing with toys is fun! I love chasing ping pong balls and playing in the cat tunnel. It’s going to take some work before I let you even pat me, but trust me, the wait will be worth it.

All you need to do to be Callie’s friend is play a game with a wand-toy, and give her a treat!
Callie lives with other cats and two small dogs, and displays nice manners with the other animals. She has spent time with visiting children, and has enjoyed playing with them. Callie is still a very young cat, and with proper introductions, she would fit into most household situations. She is friendly, gentle, and inquisitive, and will no doubt grow into a lovely, snuggly family member. Callie is perfectly litterbox trained.

Chipotle – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Chipotle
DOB: 16/10/2020
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Gender: Female
Adoption fee: $159
Location: Carindale
Snuggle Scope: Adores cuddles in a safe spot
Cat Scope: Needs a cat friend
Child Scope: Untested, not suited to young children
Dog Scope: Would prefer no dogs
Vet work: Complete

About:

Chipotle is a beautiful chatty girl that has come so far from the tiny scared kitten she used to be. She is the most adorable little cuddle bug when she gets going. Chippy will rub her head into hands, smooshing her face in or turning her shoulders to you directing where she wants her pats. She loves vigorous pats along her neck or shoulders and adores her head and chin pats and scritches. Chippy will purr up a storm and reach out her head or feet if you dare pause in her pats. She can still be a bit wary of approaches if she’s down low, so prefers her cuddles when she’s on the lounge, cat tree or table.
Chippy loves supervising the kitchen and has the most adorable breakfast routine with her foster dad. When he has a (plain) omelet for breakfast, she knows, and races to his chair when she sees it coming out of the kitchen, and gives the best kitty cat eyes as she waits for her pinch of egg. Not usually too vocal, Chippy makes the most adorable trills and chirps as she darts about, plays, or wants your attention.

Often happy to nap most of the day away, Chippy loves her feline friends to cuddly up with or dart around with during playtime. She can be a little overwhelmed and defensive when meeting new cats, but quickly starts to become friends once she knows they want to be friends too. Chippy has become such good friends with a resident cat and another foster, that we believe she would do best in a new home with another cat willing to be her friend. Chippy currently lives with a large inside dog which she doesn’t particularly like. She’s happy to live in the same house, but would prefer the dog to ignore her if she has to live with it.

Snuggle scope: On his terms
Cat scope: Good
Dog scope: Not tested
Child scope: Not tested

Chuck came into care with his two brothers in November 2020 and was named due to his little white chin, which makes him look a little like a ventriloquist dummy. Since then, he has also enjoyed (or endured) nicknames such as Chuckles, Chuckleberry Finn and Chuck Berry from his carer. These are usually met with the look that only a good feline can give!
Chuck loves nothing more than spending time with his feline siblings and would love a home where he has a feline friend to smooch and play with. He is an independent young chap and will seek out his humans when he’s ready for some love and a play.
If you can offer a quiet home with patience, plenty of food and treats, you will be rewarded with a sweet natured, gentle boy who will lend you his ear for years to come.

Colby – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Colby
DOB: 02/01/2020
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption fee: $159
Location: Bracken Ridge
Snuggle scope: Not convinced about human contact, but is learning
Cat scope: Great with other cats – loves to play
Dog scope: Not phased about the small dog in foster care
Child scope: Untested. But due to timid nature would not suit a home with small kids
Vet work: Complete

About:

Colby came into care as an unsocialsed kitten who had zero trust in humans. He has been a work in progress and he is learning that humans mean him no harm, but he needs a human who can see his potential and is happy to keep working with him to gain his trust.
Colby is still fearful of “the approach”, and will mostly run when you try to approach him. At time when he is asleep you can approach and pat him and he will purr and loves the pats, but the smallest noise will send him running to hide.
Colby LOVES other cats, and needs a home where there is a confident social cat that he can take social cues from.

Child scope: Untested with young children but he is good with teens and adults.
Vet work: Complete

About:

Drake took awhile to warm to humans but now that he knows humans only want to shower him with love and pats he can’t get enough snuggles and attention!
Drake is a gorgeous tabby with very fine features (he’s really very petite) and his little face is so sweet it will melt your heart.
He is a bit of a character, keeping watch over the household and always looking for opportunities to get involved with the daily chores, he will follow you from one room to the next while you wander about. He now comes when he is called as he knows the reward is a big snuggle and a good chin rub.
He is a playful, friendly little boy who had a rough start so is still a little shy in new situations but his confidence is growing each day! He will make a wonderful companion to anyone as once he is familiar with new people he is very easy going. He’s not currently a lap cat but we do see potential for him to become one as he now enjoys laying on the bed with you as he knows he gets lots of pats if he lays beside you. We encourage you to meet Drake and see for yourself just how lovely he is, he may not be your best friend in 5 minutes but give him 5 hours and he’s all yours!

DOB: 01/01/2014
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair

About:

Elise came into care through the head of our rescue many years ago, and has spent time with several of our wonderful foster carers since then.

Being a ‘free spirit’ Elise was not used to hoomins and didn’t take too well to them.

After years of careful care and love [and a lot of patience], Elise is finally happy to be loved by hoomins [although a little shy at first].

She still has a long way to go, but with the right home, we’re positive Elise will make a wonderful companion.

Evie – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Evie
DOB: 28/10/2018
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $159
Location: Kallangur
Snuggle scope: Loves to be patted and fussed over
Cat scope: Tolerates other cats but prefers being solo
Dog scope: Fine to exist around dogs but doesn’t like being approached by them
Child scope: Fine with gentle children
Vet work: Completed
MEDICAL NOTE: Evie struggles with inappropriate toileting, she’s been thoroughly assessed by our vets and they have determined it’s an anxiety issue.

About:

Evie is on the look out for her very own special someone.
And a very special person they need to be.
Evie has anxiety and behavioural issues which cause her to toilet inappropriately, this tends to manifest in two ways:
1. She will hold onto her bladder until she can no longer control it and will urinate where she’s lying.
2. She will pick a spot on the floor and will toilet there repeatedly.
We’ve trialled Evie with a few different medications and we’ve found when she’s medicated she’s more prone to number 1, and when she’s not medicated she’s more prone to number 2.
There’s a few ways this can be managed:
– Have a bedroom or pen Evie can be confined to when you first bring her home, when she has no other option of where to go she will use her litter tray. She can be gradually introduced to the rest of the house but this process can’t be rushed.
– Absolutely no carpet in your home.
– If she’s been sleeping on your bed for quite a long time (4 hours or more) pick her up and take her to her litter tray so she’s reminded to use it.
– No sharing litter trays, if another cat has used the litter tray she won’t use it.
– Being prepared to put a litter tray where she decides to toilet. For example, if she decides to toilet underneath your dining room table the best approach is to put a litter tray there.
– Love and patience. This is something that will need to be managed for the rest of her life and her new family must be 100% committed to it.
Whoever adopts Evie will be rewarded with such a sweet, delightful girl. She’s so friendly and chatty. She will follow you all around the house demanding your attention and your love, and she purrs her head off when you pat her.
She does shed quite a lot of hair so will need regular brushing.
She’s very inquisitive and loves to explore the house and see what everyone is up to. If there’s a closed door anywhere you’ll find Evie waiting on the other side!

Dog scope: Not recommended

About:

Farrah came into care as a very scared girl who had not been handled by humans, making her fearful and timid.
She has since been housed with a number of kittens who have taught her that humans aren’t all bad. That being said, she is still quite timid and will hide at loud noises or people she doesn’t know. Once she feels comfortable with you, she is a beautiful snuggly girl who loves a pat and will roll around on the floor for attention. Farrah will suit a quiet home who will give her the time to feel comfortable and space where she can hide away when she needs it. She loves her food, so this will definitely help to gain your trust!

Fifi has integrated well into a multi cat house, she can be a little stand off initially with resident cats but has overcome her initial reservations. Fifi is super snuggly and affectionate, not a peep vocally unless it is hunting down toys.
