At the age of 11, Adele found herself surrendered.
While obviously a little unsettled and uncertain of her situation, she fit into care almost instantly.
Adele is a sweet and very calm cat. She is quite affectionate, enjoying spending time next to you on the couch, floor and bed if she can.
Whenever she walks past you, she will give you a head bop and is quite chatty when she wants your attention.
She is quite inquisitive and will come looking for you if she hears you doing something that she isn’t involved in.
While she is a little older than some, she still has the energy to play with her toys and have the occasional run.

About:

This stunning young lady came into care from the most awful situation, but despite this she’s been nothing but sweet and loving! She was extremely thin on arrival (earning the name Slinky Malinki from the vet) – she has gained some weight since being in care and now looks great, but she still thinks she is hungry ALL THE TIME, which is quite common for cats who come from situations like this.
Alwyn is an elegant young lady, a little like Grace Kelly – all class and elegance. She has a beautiful coat that is starting to shine due to good quality good, and you can see her starting to “fluff out” around her chest, tail and back legs – she is going to be a rather fluffy young lady!
Alwyn currently lives in a multi cat home and is not phased at all by other cats, the small dog in her foster home doesn’t phase her either. In fact, not much phases this girl, she is just so chill!
She is starting to find her “inner kitten” and is discovering kitten toys, which is completely beautiful to see.
Always would make a wonderful addition to any home.

Andy – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Andy
DOB: 01/05/2021
Gender: Male
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $159
Location: Carina Heights
Snuggle scope: Snuggly as long as there isn’t something more fun to do
Cat scope: Has been very confident and energetic so would be suited to a similar minded/aged cat or one that is unphased and can just ignore him
Dog scope: Confident in proximity to a dog when tested
Child scope: Confident around most humans but would be best suited to responsible older children 12+
Vet work: Completed
Next vaccination due: 12/05/2023
Date ready to leave care: Available now

About:

Andy is an energetic, good natured, confident little man. He loves pats and cuddles although won’t sit still for too long as loves to explore, run and play with his toys as is still only a young man. Anything that moves – or looks like it might move with the right encouragement – is a potential plaything.
While he is only a small cat, he is very confident around other cats, even if they are twice his size. He just wants to play with his fur sibling/s and doesn’t take the hint that they aren’t as keen so correct introductions would need to be made to ensure that his enthusiasm isn’t taken as aggression.
When he sees an open door or an opportunity for a door to open, he wants to be the first to race through it and see who is there and what he can play with or eat on the other side. He is therefore best suited to older, responsible children to help prevent him from escaping and getting into mischief.
He absolutely loves food and eating! Therefore, he needs to be fed in a separate location to other cats or he will quickly consume their food too. He also needs scheduled meals rather than being left to graze/free-range feed. Hopefully he grows out of this over time.

Ariat – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Ariat
DOB: 20/11/2019
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption fee: $159
Location: Greenslopes
Snuggle scope: Shy
Cat scope: Super curious, ok with another gentle cat
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Untested
Vet work: Completed
Next vaccination due: 17/06/2023
Date ready to leave care: Available now

About:

Ariat came into care originally with her babies and a complete fear of humans. She has sent her babies off into the world sometime ago, and is slowly rediscovering herself.
Ariat needs someone to be understanding that she isn’t going to be a lap cat – but with lots of love, patience and some time there is no doubt she will be able to be a sweet companion for her adopter.
She has a cheeky side too – she loves playing with toys, and often “teaches” them how to swim in her water bowl. She is surprisingly ok with other gentle cats with the correct introduction.

Asha came into care from a farm out west when she was about 3 months old. As she had never interacted with humans, she was terrified of them and took a long time to learn that they are ok.
Asha will need a quiet home, preferably with someone who is home a lot. She has come out of her shell enough to want to be near her human, but she still gets scared by loud noises and people she doesn’t know. As she is a food lover, this will definitely help her settle in!
She has decided that she does love attention and will chat to you and smooch around your legs. She does love to play and would love to have a friend in her new home.
She has also been blessed with the softest coat ever!

About:

Hi there. My name is Buffy. When I was brought into care I had my tiny babies with me. Now that they have grown up and flown the coop, I’m ready to find my forever home.
I am still learning how to trust humans. I have come a long, long way from the massive scaredy cat I was when I first got here. But I still have a way to go. I will hiss at you if I’m scared or not sure.
I love to spend my day sleeping on a comfy cat bed in the sunbeams, sometimes snuggled up to my foster brother. He is helping me learn how to trust my human.
I’ve also just realised that playing with toys is fun! I love chasing ping pong balls and playing in the cat tunnel. It’s going to take some work before I let you even pat me, but trust me, the wait will be worth it.

She gave birth to 6 kittens in care and on the same day accepted a tiny newborn orphan that most thought wouldn’t make it. But Cassie successfully raised all 7 kittens, and now that they are getting adopted, it’s her turn to look for her very own family.
Cassie loves a good pat and scratch but isn’t so sure about being carried yet. She loves to sleep on lounges or help keep a chair warm. Cassie loves her food, and is always ready at mealtimes, making sure you don’t forget her. She has an endearing little meow as she stares up at you waiting for her food to come to her.
With her kittens grown up, Cassie is having a new lease on life. She is only just 1 year old, but is reliving her kittenhood, and loves playing with toys. She also loves bouncing around playing and doing zoomies with her kitty friends.

Chipotle – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Chipotle
DOB: 16/10/2020
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Gender: Female
Adoption fee: $159
Location: Carindale
Snuggle Scope: Adores cuddles in a safe spot
Cat Scope: Needs a cat friend
Child Scope: Untested, not suited to young children
Dog Scope: Would prefer no dogs
Vet work: Complete
Next vaccination due: 10/03/2023
Date ready to leave care: Available now

About:

Chipotle is a beautiful chatty girl that has come so far from the tiny scared kitten she used to be. She is the most adorable little cuddle bug when she gets going. Chippy will rub her head into hands, smooshing her face in or turning her shoulders to you directing where she wants her pats. She loves vigorous pats along her neck or shoulders and adores her head and chin pats and scritches. Chippy will purr up a storm and reach out her head or feet if you dare pause in her pats. She can still be a bit wary of approaches if she’s down low, so prefers her cuddles when she’s on the lounge, cat tree or table.
Chippy loves supervising the kitchen and has the most adorable breakfast routine with her foster dad. When he has a (plain) omelet for breakfast, she knows, and races to his chair when she sees it coming out of the kitchen, and gives the best kitty cat eyes as she waits for her pinch of egg. Not usually too vocal, Chippy makes the most adorable trills and chirps as she darts about, plays, or wants your attention.

Often happy to nap most of the day away, Chippy loves her feline friends to cuddly up with or dart around with during playtime. She can be a little overwhelmed and defensive when meeting new cats, but quickly starts to become friends once she knows they want to be friends too. Chippy has become such good friends with a resident cat and another foster, that we believe she would do best in a new home with another cat willing to be her friend. Chippy currently lives with a large inside dog which she doesn’t particularly like. She’s happy to live in the same house, but would prefer the dog to ignore her if she has to live with it.

Evie – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Evie
DOB: 28/10/2018
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $159
Location: Kallangur
Snuggle scope: Loves to be patted and fussed over
Cat scope: Tolerates other cats but prefers being solo
Dog scope: Fine to exist around dogs but doesn’t like being approached by them
Child scope: Fine with gentle children
Vet work: Completed
Next vaccination due: 16/06/2023
MEDICAL NOTE: Evie struggles with inappropriate toileting, she’s been thoroughly assessed by our vets and they have determined it’s an anxiety issue.

About:

Evie is on the look out for her very own special someone.
And a very special person they need to be.
Evie has anxiety and behavioural issues which cause her to toilet inappropriately, this tends to manifest in two ways:
1. She will hold onto her bladder until she can no longer control it and will urinate where she’s lying.
2. She will pick a spot on the floor and will toilet there repeatedly.
We’ve trialled Evie with a few different medications and we’ve found when she’s medicated she’s more prone to number 1, and when she’s not medicated she’s more prone to number 2.
There’s a few ways this can be managed:
– Have a bedroom or pen Evie can be confined to when you first bring her home, when she has no other option of where to go she will use her litter tray. She can be gradually introduced to the rest of the house but this process can’t be rushed.
– Absolutely no carpet in your home.
– If she’s been sleeping on your bed for quite a long time (4 hours or more) pick her up and take her to her litter tray so she’s reminded to use it.
– No sharing litter trays, if another cat has used the litter tray she won’t use it.
– Being prepared to put a litter tray where she decides to toilet. For example, if she decides to toilet underneath your dining room table the best approach is to put a litter tray there.
– Love and patience. This is something that will need to be managed for the rest of her life and her new family must be 100% committed to it.
Whoever adopts Evie will be rewarded with such a sweet, delightful girl. She’s so friendly and chatty. She will follow you all around the house demanding your attention and your love, and she purrs her head off when you pat her.
She does shed quite a lot of hair so will need regular brushing.
She’s very inquisitive and loves to explore the house and see what everyone is up to. If there’s a closed door anywhere you’ll find Evie waiting on the other side!

About:

Farrah came into care as a very scared girl who had not been handled by humans, making her fearful and timid.
She has since been housed with a number of kittens who have taught her that humans aren’t all bad. That being said, she is still quite timid and will hide at loud noises or people she doesn’t know. Once she feels comfortable with you, she is a beautiful snuggly girl who loves a pat and will roll around on the floor for attention. Farrah will suit a quiet home who will give her the time to feel comfortable and space where she can hide away when she needs it. She loves her food, so this will definitely help to gain your trust!

About:

Gilmore is a stunning little man who earned his name after the movie “Happy Gilmore” as he has such a gorgeous, happy disposition! Even though Gilmore is a happy little soul he is quite timid when meeting new people and will shy away until he feels comfortable enough to come out of hiding. Once you have won his trust there is no turning back.
Gilmore is an absolute sweetheart, with a lot of energy. If you are doing something, he needs to be right there with you figuring out what you are doing and offering his assistance. Gilmore loves to help with the chores, he will help mop the floor by chasing the mop and skidding on the wet floor, he also helps to clean the benches by chasing your cleaning cloth and he absolutely loves to help make the bed, I’m not quite sure how helpful he really is but he does make it a lot of fun.
While he isn’t over the top smoochy, he will let you pick him up for cuddles, and will happily come and either sit beside you or curl up on your lap on the couch and receive as many smooches as you are willing to give him. Gilmore loves to hop into bed for a snuggle in the early hours of the morning, especially when it is cold.
Gilmore loves his foster sister, and they will often be chasing each other through the house or throwing a toy in the air and chasing it. Gilmore gets along with most of the grumpy adult felines in the home and I will often find him snuggled up with one of them on a chair snoozing the day away.
This little man is pure love and entertainment and would make a wonderful addition to any home, but he will need a playmate to keep him company.
