Crocus – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Crocus
DOB: 29/5/21
Gender: Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $189
Location: Carindale
Snuggle scope: Super cuddly, will chat for cuddles
Cat scope: good after intro
Dog scope: not a fan, but if they leave her alone she’s fine
Child scope: Good with gentle hands
Vet work: Complete
Booster due 05/11/22

About:

Crocus is a gorgeous house panther with the most stunning silky black coat speckled with white hairs. She loves her people and can be a little chatty when she’s trying to convince you to pat her, or when she sees you getting her food ready. Crocus can be a little unsure when people are standing – she’ll circle your legs purring, but gets a little nervous and backs off when you reach down to pat her. But if you sit down somewhere, Crocus will eagerly jump up and start rubbing and purring and flopping into you with heaps of enthusiasm. Crocus needs her cuddles, and with her loud endearing purr, how can you deny her a few more moment cuddles on the bed, or on the lounge when she lays on your feet.
As a young cat, Crocus loves her play time, and running around the house with the other friendly cats. She’s a little nervous of new cats, but once she knows they mean her no harm, she’s happy to play with them or even snuggle up on the lounge together. She’s been taken under the wing of another foster cat in her home, and quickly learnt who to go to for treats, the best nap spots, and where dinner is eaten. But she’s also fine to be independent at times. While crocus is not a fan of the large dog in her foster home, if the dog doesn’t bother her, she learns to settle in and ignore them too.
Crocus would love a family that can give her all the cuddles she wants, but respects that she’s sometimes nervous of the approach.

Demi – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Demi
DOB: 30/03/21
Gender: Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $189
Location: Bonogin, Gold Coast
Snuggle scope: Super sweet and loves a snuggle
Cat scope: Fine with the other cats in the home after correct introductions
Dog scope: Is adjusting to the small dog in her foster home
Child scope: Untested but due to her gentle nature she would be great with kid
Vetwork: 1st vac 30/12/21
Booster due: 30/1/21
Approx date ready to leave care: Early February

About:

Gorgeous sweet Demi came into care very heavily pregnant at the tender age of 8 months old, so really still a kitten herself. A few days after arriving safely into care, she gave birth to 5 kittens. She wasn’t a natural mother to begin with which we put down to her young age, but by the time her babies were about 2 weeks old she got the hang of it and become a devoted mother. Her babies are now self sufficient, so it’s time to find this sweet girl her very own family.
Demi is an extremely sweet and gentle girl. She LOVES to be with her people, and has this cute little trill that she uses to chat to her human which is just the cutest. She is quite curious and will often follow you around watching what you are doing. She is still a young girl and does like to play, but she is also out of the crazy kitten phase and is such a well behaved and polite young lady.
Demi is just a small build, and isn’t likely to grow much more, so its like having a large kitten around the house! She loves to sit near you, and has recently discovered the humans bed and is becoming a good little bed buddy.
Demi is currently living in a multi cat home and isn’t phased at all by other cats, or the small dog in her foster home. She is such a sweet and loving girl, and any home would be lucky to have her as their fur baby.

Elton – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Elton
DOB: 20/05/21
Gender: Male
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $189
Location: Albany Creek
Snuggle scope: Wants to be loved, but not ready yet
Cat scope: Relaxed with other cats
Dog scope: Ok with a small gentle dog
Child scope: Suited to a home with no children
Vet work: Completed
Booster Due: 20/10/2022

About:

The tiniest of the litter, Elton is the shyest also. He so desperately wants to be your friend, but is a little scared to get too close. Elton is clearly craving attention, and if you quietly, slowly (very slowly) walk towards him, he’ll watch you intently, and if he is having a confident moment, he will let you get close… and then oh my… the PURRS!!!
Elton is such a sweet boy and in a quiet home, I could see him settling right in and finding his confidence. Elton has the possibility of becoming a loving boy and an endeared member of any family, who can find it in their hearts to take it nice and slow with him.
Elton has worked his way up to shy. His first week with us, Elton was super scared and he has come very far from his previous self to now. And we’ve figured out that we can win his heart over with wet food. And he loves roast chicken… he is far less shy if you have a piece of chicken in your hand!!
I can’t promise that you’ll get a cuddle if you meet him, but you may just see the love he has when you look deep into his eyes. He will be a beautiful boy as he learns that humans can be good people.

I was left behind when my owners moved homes, and the neighbour discovered me and my newborn babies and took me to a vet so they could find someone to help us – this is where BFF came in. I was extremely underweight and had trouble standing and struggling to looking after my babies, but with some time, love, and lots of good quality food I’ve regained my strength and energy, and I can now be the young teenage kitten that I am. Yes it’s hard to believe but I am not even 1 year old yet so I still have a bit of kitten left in me.
I love running around and playing but more than that I love to attention from people that are nice to me and with time I may even become a lap cat.
I am great with people and just learning to get along with other cats.

She was born with poorly developed eyes. This has left her with small eyes, cloudy lenses and quite poor vision. She can see dark and light but otherwise has quite poor vision. This is unlikely to change over her life
She also has a poorly developed urogenital system. She has no vulva and her ureter exits on the edge of her anus. She has however to date had no problems urinating and has not yet had a urinary tract infection. She seems to handle this all amazingly well.
Mindy has a latent herpes diagnosis however this may flair up at times.

About:

Mindy joined BFF as part of a last litter program, and is one of the sweetest and funniest little girls around! She even has the resident cranky cat charmed.
Mindy loves with her whole heart, and her purr is out of this world! Mindy is a very tactile kitten and loves to play with toys that have noise to them – crinkly balls, anything with a bell in it, and even fresh kitty litter. She is a bit of a prankster and has learnt how to turn on the robot vacuum which she will then chase. She also is a serial straw thief.
Mindy has some medical issues. She has slightly limited vision, and has been seen by a specialist. However this in no way stops Mindy doing what she wants to do! She also has uro-rectal septum malformation. This has not caused her any issues so far. She also has a short soft palate which again has caused her no issues (other than snoring at times). She also has a fabulous little stumpy tail.

Rumer is still very much a kitten at heart and loves to play, and loves to play with the abundance of toys, with a particular love for the cat tunnel. Being a teen, she is just that little more settled and easier than a kitten. She makes a great bed buddy for the nana of the house, and behaves herself beautifully during the night.
This little lady really is a little gem, and would make a wonderful addition to any home.
