Adoption Profile:

Name: NessaRose and ShenShen
DOB : 17/12/2024
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Medium Hair and Domestic Short Hair
To adopt: 350
Location: Bray Park
Snuggle scope: Nessa loves cheek and chin scratches, will spend a lot of time beside you on the couch and will sleep beside your head. Can be picked up but doesn’t overly like it, we’re waiting to see what happens the longer she is in a comfortable environment regarding further pats and snuggles. Shen will follow you around and spend most of her time with you, we can pat her but she’ll tell us that she wants us to stop rather quickly. Currently a work in progress but every day is an improvement. Can also be picked up but has little tolerance for it, something we’re also working with her on. Both Nessa and Shen LOVE brushes.
Cat scope: Untested
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Previous foster mentioned Nessa Rose would sit with the kids, unsure on Shen Shen. Please note both girls do not like sudden loud noises.
Medical note: Nessa Rose has pupil differences due to the difference in opacity of the lens at the back. Our vets have done all the in house tests on both girls and don’t believe this will cause any issues.

About:

Meet our quirky sisters Nessa Rose and ShenShen!

Coming into foster care a little reclusive, these girls are flourishing having rule over the roost and are ready to find their forever home to settle into. While both girls prefer a nice quiet environment, don’t let this fool you into thinking these 2 don’t like being the source of daily chaos!

Nessa, the fluffy white princess is such a sweetheart. While not a lap cat (yet), she’ll be the first to pick her person to latch onto and utilise the empty couch space beside you.

Nessa is very confident and outgoing but can still be spooked easily by loud noises and new people, though she settles very quickly. She adores a good cheek and chin scratch, demands a cubby house be made for her to nap in during the day and loves to explore and play with both toys and her sister.

She’s also a little cheeky and is not afraid to stick her paw into your food to try slide some her way. Nessa can be picked up but is more of a couch cat who prefers to come to you.

We’ve found her favourite place to sleep at night is between her foster carer’s pillows (so very cute) and she acts as a physical alarm clock for breakfast time. When we say physical, Nessa won’t cry to wake you, she’ll jump on you regardless of how you sleep and start giving you a massage! First with her front paws, next with her back paws if you’re still stubbornly sleeping. Speaking of pillows, she uses couch arm rests and the likes as a pillow for her head when she’s sleeping beside you as some of the pictures provided will show.

Our Queen Shen is a little more timid that her sister but just needs more time to adjust.

While they both like their alone time throughout the day, Shen has also surprised us by picking her person quite quickly since arriving and follows them around the house whenever she gets the chance (also insanely cute).

While she made the house her own far quicker than we anticipated, like Nessa she is afraid of sudden loud noises and is timid around new people. While she may not settle as quickly as Nessa, we are constantly seeing improvements as she gets less scared and more confident. We’ve been working hard to get her used to pats and are slowly getting there. We can give her a good scratch and she definitely enjoys it, she’s just not ready to let you know it yet!

She’s also not afraid to let you know when she’s not in the mood or if it’s time to stop, though she’s using less claws now to communicate. Once trust has been built you can pick Shen up but we’re still working to see if she enjoys it or not.

When she’s not following around her favourite human, Shen appreciates quiet time in a number of spots around the house and has also started to sit on the couch with her foster parents. She has already come a long way since coming into care and will no doubt continue to become her best self once settled into her forever home.

Shen is slowly becoming more adventurous and while has always liked play time with Nessa, she has also started to enjoy cat toys once she sees her sister having fun.

Speaking of play time, both Nessa and Shen have lots of energy and love to chase cat toys on string in between mutual play time with each other. While pats seem to be on their terms so to speak, they both absolutely love to be brushed! Both girls can be wonderfully vocal at times, especially at meal times given their love for food. They use the litter perfectly with no visible issues and are very clean cats who don’t seem to drop much fur on the floors.

Speaking of floors, they both love sleeping on the floor during the day. We have A LOT of cushions and soft, squishy beds but these sisters seem to love the floor just as much as the couch, maybe even more!

Both being explorers, they hate closed doors and hate being separated even more. Once they have access to all rooms in the house however, we seem to have a mutual agreement to not keep asking for access to wardrobes/pantry/cupboards etc. While not traditionally cuddly with each other, Ness and Shen are at their best when they can be beside each other without anything keeping them apart.

Eating time goes a lot smoother when they are together and considering the racket they’ll cause if they are locked away from one-another, we believe Nessa Rose and Shen Shen need to be adopted as a bonded pair. We feel this will give them the greatest chance to allow them to continue to come out of their shells and to become their best selves that they oh so deserve.

The ideal forever home will be a quiet, pet-free kingdom for the girls to rule over and grace you with their wonderful presence.

Please note: As all our cats live in foster homes, a completed Meet & Greet application is required before we can arrange a visit- meet’n’greet form.
