Basil & Chives have a bond that is truly special.

Despite their senior years, both boys are exceptionally gentle, affectionate, and calm.

They are wonderful with children and happily tolerate being carried and cuddled.

They have also shown great potential in a multi-pet home, remaining unfazed by dogs (even large ones behind a barrier) and integrating well with other cats.

Basil may enjoy a playful chase from time to time, but both boys happily eat alongside other cats and exchange friendly nose sniffs.

If you’re looking for a loving, easygoing duo with beautiful temperaments and a deeply bonded friendship, Basil and Chives could be the perfect addition to your family.

Cecelia – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Cecilia
DOB: 03/10/2015
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $165
Location: Bonogin
Snuggle scope: Enjoys a nice pat
Cat scope: Ok with correct introductions
Dog scope: Tolerates the boisterous puppy in her foster home as long as she is respectful
Child scope: Untested
Medical note. Cecilia has diabetes and requires insulin injections two times a day, she will need this for the rest of her life.

About:

Cecilia is a beautiful 9 year old girl that was surrendered to us after being diagnosed with diabetes.

Her diabetes is now stabilised, and she needs insulin via injection 2 times per day (12 hours apart). This might sound off putting, but CC is so sweet and placid, and sits nicely while you inject her, and she doesn’t even flinch (and the needle is really small so super easy).

She is currently living in a multi cat household. When she first arrived she hid most of the day for several weeks while she adjusted, but now she is happily out in the open joying laying in sunny spots around the house.

She is fine with other cats, but prefers it if they give her her own space.

She’s a sweet girl that likes to bury into snuggly blankets to feel cosy and secure.

She’s a friendly girl that enjoys a nice pat, and when you are patting her, she raises her butt in the air so she can get a good scratch at the base of her tail.

Marley – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Marley
DOB: 01/03/2015
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $165
Location: Mudgeeraba
Snuggle scope: Loves being nearby, but not a lap cat. Okay with being picked up.
Cat scope: Better as a solo cat
Dog scope: Unknown
Child scope: Older children preferred

About:

Marley and you?

This little lady, like her musical namesake is one pretty cool cat. She loves spending her days chilling out, looking out windows, watching the world go by.

She likes meeting new people and sidles up quickly for one of her favourite things in the world, a head scratch. In the evenings her favourite spots are by her human on the lounge or curled up at the end of the bed. Marley hasn’t shown much interest in laps, but with summer coming, who needs a lap warmer anyway. She does though love being nearby and will reward you with the sweetest little meow, or a lovely loud purr.

Marley is learning the wonders of play and has quite a workout chasing toys on sticks. She’ll often roll over to show her beautiful belly, but don’t fall into the trap of thinking she wants a belly rub, it’s her favourite game, grabbing any unsuspecting hand (gently of course).

Marley is an undemanding, sweet, relaxed girl who is responding very well to care. She will no doubt continue to blossom when she finds her forever people to show her the love that was missing from her last home.

Noonie – Female Siberian Forest Cat

Adoption Profile:

Name: Noonie
DOB: 11/07/2015
Gender: Female
Breed: Siberian Forest Cat
Adoption Fee: $165
Location: Bray Park
Snuggle scope: Total lap cat once she has settled
Cat scope: Tolerant of non-dominant cats after slow introductions
Dog scope: Untested, but due to shy nature, not recommended
Child scope: Not suitable with children
Medical Note: Noonie has a reverse D-shaped pupil. This means part of her pupil does not react to light in the normal way. Noonie was born with this condition and has been checked by a veterinary ophthalmologist. This does not impact her vision and requires no treatment.

About

Meet Noonie, a lovely senior Siberian Forest Cat, a gentle and dignified companion looking for a peaceful forever home.

With her luxurious triple coat, expressive eyes, and signature fluffy tail, she embodies the natural beauty and elegance the Siberian Forest Cat is known for. Noonie recently came to Best Friends Felines through no fault of her own and is now patiently waiting for a quiet, understanding forever retirement home to call her own.

Naturally shy and sensitive, Noonie may take a little time to feel safe in new surroundings. Once she does, her gentle and affectionate nature begins to shine. She has quickly formed a deep bond with her foster carer, but is yet to extend this trust to other members of the household.

She finds comfort in soft voices, cozy lap snuggles, and calm companionship. Her mature age brings a peaceful presence—she’s content with a warm bed, light brushing sessions, and simply being near her person who makes her feel secure and loved.

Noonie would thrive in a tranquil, calm household without young children, dogs or loud activity. She is good with non-dominant cats, but would be equally content as your one and only. A patient adopter who can offer consistency and kindness will be rewarded with quiet loyalty and heartfelt connection. Senior cats have so much love left to give, and she deserves a second chance at stability and warmth.

If you have a peaceful home and an open heart, this dignified Siberian lady may be the perfect companion to share your days.

Ripley’s life was harsh before being rescued.

Slash – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Slash
DOB: 12/10/2015
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $165
Location: North Lakes
Snuggle scope: Absolutely on his own terms
Cat scope: Single cat household
Dog scope: A little unpredictable, okay if the dog keeps their distance
Child scope: Will tolerate gentle children giving him pats
Medical Note: Slash came into care with a urinary blockage so severe he needed emergency surgery to save his life. Because of this, he now needs a special prescription diet for the rest of his life to prevent further blockages occurring.

About:

Slash (named for the famous guitarist) is a closet sweetheart.

Most interactions with Slash are on his terms, but when you get it right, he rewards you with a satisfied blink and even a brief purring – which is a cross between purring and grunting! He loves to sleep and has a few favourite spots. He is very diligent in using the scratching tower and has never damaged furniture. He is very good at using a closed litterbox and is not fussy about litter brand changes.

Slash is however fussy with food and is also on a special renal diet – he would refuse food repeatedly if he does not like the particular flavour, he loves dry food but is reluctant to drink water. It is important that extra liquid gets added to his wet food (bottled water as he seems to hate council water!)

Slash will need a lot of love and encouragement and tends to share his sweet side with one preferred person only, so if you are perhaps that special person that has heaps of patience and a lot of kitty love, Slash will eventually learn to adore you also.

Tajo – Male DLH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Tajo
DOB: 12/12/2022
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Long Hair
Adoption Fee: $165
Location: Fitzgibbon
Snuggle scope: Loves to be cuddled
Cat scope: Very friendly, but fearful of dominant/territorial cats.
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Untested, but suspect would be perfectly happy with children
Medical note: Tajo has been noted to be gingivitis prone this can be controlled with ordinary measures such as dental treats which should be part of every cat’s routine.

About:

Tajo was adopted out as a kitten and through no fault of his own was returned care.

Tajo is super cuddly and friendly and just loves being around people. He loves to join you on the couch for belly rubs and has the loudest purrs.

He’s a very independent player, and will run around the house happily entertaining himself with balls or mice toys or whatever else he can get his paws on while making cute little engine noises while he runs around.

A gentle, clumsy giant Tajo has yet to figure out he is no longer a kitten, making him a silly, clumsy little man who is constantly bounding after toys and running into every chair leg along the way.

He is also an extremely friendly and gentle guy. He will gently greet you with a head boop before leaning into you and then flopping onto the floor for belly rubs.

He wants to be with his humans all the time, whether that’s playing with toys, wandering around the house or cuddling up for a snooze.

He is still a little bit timid of new noises or new things, but he gains a lot of confidence when given reassuring pats by his humans.
