Coal – Male DSH

Name: Coal
DOB : 25/9/23
Gender : Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $185
Location: Northgate
Snuggle scope: snuggly
Cat scope: Fine
Dog scope: Fine
Child scope: fine with gentle hands

About:

A beautiful black fuzzy house panther, go no further to find this gorgeous boy for you.

He, like his brothers loves to chase the other kittens up the hallway or you find him monkeying up the cat tower.

Along with his brothers Sebastian and Huxley he is the life of the party, if you would like to adopt 2 kittens, let Coal be one of your choices as it means it will be a good one.

The scratch post is a favourite climbing apparatus and this playful kitty loves boxes and lying on top of his brothers in a kitty puddle He snuggles up with as many kittens as he can find in the smallest of spaces and is generally in the bottom of the kitten snuggle pile along with his brother Sebastian another house panther. Coal is completely black hence the name.

Coal gets along with his foster siblings the cats and the kittens and even his dog foster brother. He likes to snuggle in a fluffy cat bed even, actually especially if there is a kitten or two already in it. This little man manages to monkey up the bed and curl up next to you, making his presence known by meowing at you until you acknowledge his existence on the bed, or in the kitchen or bathroom……wherever he is he announces his arrival.

He has a big purr and like most kittens loves his own voice.

Coal would make great addition to any family dynamic whether to complete any family either looking for their first kitty or extending their kitty family. He’s such a playful little boy and gives everyone cuddles.

Coal is looking forward to moving to his forever home when his vet work is complete and you certainly won’t be sorry if you take him home.

Colby – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Colby
DOB: 02/01/2020
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption fee: $185
Location: Bracken Ridge
Snuggle scope: Slowly learning that humans are good for food and cuddles
Cat scope: Great with other cats – loves to play
Dog scope: Current foster carer does not have a dog but Colby has lived harmoniously with a small dog in a previous foster house
Child scope: Colby currently lives with three young teens and gets along with them very well, He is untested with smaller children

About:

Colby came into care as an unsocialised kitten who had zero trust in humans.

He has been a work in progress and he is now learning that humans mean him no harm, Colby still needs a human who can give him the time and space to trust in a new environment.

Colby is still a bit fearful of “the approach”, and will mostly run when you try to approach him from above but when he is snoozing or laying peacefully he loves a belly rub and chin scratch and will purr and roll around enjoying the attention.

Recently he has been known to approach his foster mum when she is reading quietly or watching TV for pats and will even start making biscuits on mums lap or the small blanket on the couch.

Although Colby happily lives in quite a noisy household, some loud or foreign noises still send him running to hide.

Colby LOVES other cats, and tries to make friends with all the cats in his foster home. I believe Colby needs a home where there is another confident social cat friendly cat that he can play with and chase around the house like he does with his foster brother Mocha.

Errol – Male DMH

Adoption Profile:
Name: Errol
DOB : 28/02/2023
Gender : Male
Breed: DMH
Adoption Fee: $185
Location: Murarrie
Snuggle scope: very curious about pats and will accept chin scratches sometimes. Likes to hold hands but still quite wary of being touched.
Cat scope: Adores his brother Turnip but is very wary of other cats.
Dog scope: Untested but unlikely to suit.
Child scope : Untested but will not suit household with young children.

About:

Errol is a goofy chap, shy at first but once he trusts you his funny, curious little personality shines!

He and his brother Turnip had a rough start at life until they came into care with BFF at about 5 months old.

Initially, he was very scared of humans but slowly he’s come to trust his foster family and they have been delighted to watch him come out of his shell. He loves a good game and will use his expressive big eyes to let his foster mum know he would like her to play with him or nudge the wand toy towards her. He will lose himself in the game and it’s been a fantastic way to build trust. He also loves playing with his toys or batting a ball around with Turnip. He also loves a good wrestle with his brother and a game of chase.

Errol loves to climb up and down his cat tree and he will usually take up residence at the very top to supervise his foster mum as she works from home.

He is very curious about people and will often come sit beside you and tap your hand with his own paw. He’s started very seriously considering sitting on his foster mum’s lap recently which is incredible progress.

Given how far he has progressed it would be fantastic for him to be able to continue his healing journey in his forever home with his forever family.

Errol needs someone who understands cats, that will take the time to invest in helping him overcome his fear and be patient as they slowly build his trust. He would be happiest if he could continue to live with his brother as they are the best of friends. He has already made so much progress in such a short time and he will only to continue to blossom into his true happy goofy self in the right home.

Evie – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Evie
DOB: 28/10/2018
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $185
Location: Kallangur
Snuggle scope: Loves to be patted and fussed over
Cat scope: Tolerates other cats but prefers being solo
Dog scope: Fine to exist around dogs but doesn’t like being approached by them
Child scope: Fine with gentle children
MEDICAL NOTE: Evie struggles with inappropriate toileting, she’s been thoroughly assessed by our vets and they have determined it’s an anxiety issue.

About:

Evie is on the look out for her very own special someone.

And a very special person they need to be.

Evie has anxiety and behavioural issues which cause her to toilet inappropriately, this tends to manifest in two ways:

1. She will hold onto her bladder until she can no longer control it and will urinate where she’s lying.
2. She will pick a spot on the floor and will toilet there repeatedly.

We’ve trialled Evie with a few different medications and we’ve found when she’s medicated she’s more prone to number 1, and when she’s not medicated she’s more prone to number 2.

There’s a few ways this can be managed:
– Have a bedroom or pen Evie can be confined to when you first bring her home, when she has no other option of where to go she will use her litter tray. She can be gradually introduced to the rest of the house but this process can’t be rushed.
– Absolutely no carpet in your home.
– If she’s been sleeping on your bed for quite a long time (4 hours or more) pick her up and take her to her litter tray so she’s reminded to use it.
– No sharing litter trays, if another cat has used the litter tray she won’t use it.
– Being prepared to put a litter tray where she decides to toilet. For example, if she decides to toilet underneath your dining room table the best approach is to put a litter tray there.
– Love and patience. This is something that will need to be managed for the rest of her life and her new family must be 100% committed to it.
Whoever adopts Evie will be rewarded with such a sweet, delightful girl. She’s so friendly and chatty. She will follow you all around the house demanding your attention and your love, and she purrs her head off when you pat her.

She does shed quite a lot of hair so will need regular brushing.

She’s very inquisitive and loves to explore the house and see what everyone is up to. If there’s a closed door anywhere you’ll find Evie waiting on the other side!

Cat scope: good, but doesn’t always understand social cues
Dog scope: Not of fan of seeing the dog through the window in his foster home
Child scope: Best suited to a home with older children (12+) or no kids

About:

This handsome little guy with his gorgeous caramel tiger stripes was reported scared and all alone hiding out in a shed crying each night for help.

Upon coming into care he hid for the first 24 hours looking for an escape route but soon realized that he was safe and fed and most importantly loved.

He even braved his first vet visit and was given a clean bill of health.

Named Ezra meaning help and strength, he has shown he is a purr machine when shown love. He’s still nervous of loud noises and sudden movements and is timid around strangers but he’s come a long way in a short period, arching his back for tail scratches and wanting head bops from his foster mummy and his new foster fur family.

He’s loving playtime with his foster furfriends and is learning how to be a cat after being on his own at such a young age.

Faith – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Faith
DOB : 02/07/2022
Gender : Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $185
Location: Deagon
Snuggle scope: Loves a cuddle
Cat scope: Good with correct introductions
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope : Great with gentle hands
Medical note: Faith is in the final stages of Cryptococcus treatment, a fungal infection which presented as a bump near her nose. This presents no threat to other cats, and once her upcoming tests show she is clear she can cease medication. We will consider a foster-to-adopt scenario for Faith while she continues her treatment.

About:

Faith’s true loves can be described in three words: toys, food, and people.

She is the biggest sweetheart and just loves being amongst her people. Whether she’s cuddled up next to you on the lounge, or hanging at your feet in the kitchen, she’s never far away.

We’re not sure if she’s trying to be the next Masterchef contestant, or just loves the kitchen because that’s where the food comes from, but if you so much as glance at the kitchen she’s right there with you. She loves helping you cook up a storm!

Her other most favourite thing is toys! She will carry her toys around (no matter how big!), meowing away happily, presenting them to her foster carers or leaving them scattered around the house. She will then wait until they are all cleaned up and put away in the toy box, and will start the process all over again.

If you’re after a chill, smoochy companion, Faith’s your girl!

Snuggle scope: can cuddle but still learning how to ask for love
Cat scope: good
Dog scope: untested

He has come out of his shell massively in the short time that he has been with BFF and he continues to thrive now that he understands he is safe. He does the cutest happy dance while he’s standing there and will head bump your hand when he wants pats then walk around doing his little happy dance.

During the day you will find him chasing any toy he can find around the house but by night he will be cuddled in bed by your side.

When he wants attention or food you will hear the quietest of squeaks come out of his mouth.

Felipe would love to have a family to call his own and possibly some fur siblings to continue to learn off.

Golda – Female Ragdoll X

Adoption Profile:

Name: Golda
DOB: 11/3/2024
Gender: Female
Breed: Ragdoll X
Adoption Fee: $185
Location: Carindale
Snuggle scope: Sweet
Cat scope: Good with friendly cats
Dog scope: Shy, ok with respectful dogs
Child scope: Untested, would be better suited to older/quiet children

About:

Golda is a gorgeous young girl who didn’t have the best start in life. She came into care as a scared and overwhelmed new kit-teen mother and needed help looking after her two boys.

With TLC Golda quickly felt better, gained weight and confidence. Just a kitten herself, she likes playing with toys, and has loved playing with her kittens once they got old enough to play.

Golda tends to be a bit shy, but is such a sweetie and loves head rubs and greeting you for lots of pats. She’s got the sweetest little voice when makes little chirps at you or her kitty friends.

Golda is fine nearly straight away with friendly cats, but due to her shy nature would be best suited with gentle friendly cats and would likely not do well with bossy cats. Golda is tested with a fairly boisterous large dog, and while not a big fan, is perfectly fine with the dog when it’s calm.

Harper is a funny little girl, she is sweet as pie & very quirky.

Affectionally known as puppy cat, she takes on the position of always knowing who is at her house, and stalks them through the windows as they leave.

When her foster family approaches to give her some love, she will do one of two things:
1. Happily flop and roll over onto her back to get belly rubs
2. RUN It’s unclear what she’s thinking in that little head of hers, but it sure makes for some funny happenings around the house.

Never one to sit still, she loves to play with toys and her brother, but also enjoys a cuddle on the couch until she’s decided she wants to do something else!

She will chirp when you talk to her and also growl when she can hear someone coming but can’t see them.

She’s never been aggressive, she’s just a bit of a firecracker once her confidence is up. She will take a few days to fully come out of her shell, and can be a bit skittish with sudden movements and loud noises, but when she is comfortable, she is a real treat.

Hartley – Male DMH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Hartley
DOB: 05/04/24
Gender: Male
Breed: DMH
Adoption Fee: $185
Location: Ipswich
Snuggle scope: Snuggly on his terms
Cat scope: Totally fine
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Untested
Vet work: Complete

About:

Hartley is a stunning grey kitteen with charming white socks, swirly fur patterns and adorable fluff in his ears.

He is a big boy who adores his food! He has a gentle demeanour and has come from a stressful, overcrowded rescue situation, which has made him a bit shy and prone to hiding when he is nervous.

Hartley has come a long way; while he is still timid when meeting new people once he is comfortable he is a snuggly boy. To get comfortable though he will need some time and patience but believe me this sweet gorgeous boy is totally worth it!

Hartley thrives with other cats and would benefit greatly from having a feline companion in his new home to help him feel secure and show him the rope while he is settling in.

If you’re ready to offer a nurturing environment and give Hartley the time he needs to come out of his shell, he’ll reward you with his sweet and loving nature as he begins to trust and bond with you.

Snuggle scope: Loves laps, pats & belly rubs
Cat scope : Should be OK with slow introductions

Helena is a sweet, playful with a touch of crazy girl who is searching for her forever home.

She is looking for someone who loves a good play as much as good cuddles!

She loves chasing her play wand and zooms full speed around the room after it but plays gently.

Helena loves belly scratches, chin rubs and cuddles. She is a talkative and very interactive girl who will shower you with her love.

Snuggling on the bed with you is one of her favourite things, and your heart will melt when she sweetly puts her paw on your hand. She loves to chat away to you and seeks out affection.

A mix of independence and loving being around you, she is the perfect companion. She loves the family dog and loves to chill with her in the lounge.

Helena has been fostered in a home with other cats however as she came with 4 kittens in tow, she was quite protective of her kittens and didn’t enjoy having other felines around. We believe that she would prefer to be an only cat although with slow interactions may be ok with other cats.

Helena is a fantastic cat, easy going and would make a wonderful addition almost any household.

About:

Honey is as beautiful natured as she is to look at. As her name suggest, she is perfectly sweet.

She came to BFF after an infection caused an abscess which required surgery. Our cinnamon latte was super brave and came through it with no issues.

Honey oves a good play! She will chase and does the most over the top wiggle bum when she’s ready to pounce that toy.

She loves a good head kiss & pats, nothing is off bounds.

Honey is very possessive of her humans, although she is in a home with other cats, she does not like to share the attention.

Honey would love her humans to be home enough to give her lots of attention & make sure she has lots of stimulation, a nice sunny spot & all the love in the world.

Jagger & Jewell – Male & Female – Tonkinese X

Adoption Profile:

Name: Jagger and Jewell
DOB: 11/08/2019
Gender: Male and Female
Breed: Tonkinese cross
Adoption Fee: $315
Location: Yandina
Snuggle scope: They are super scardies so not cuddly Jewell will sometimes allow her carer to brush and pat her.
Cat scope: Not tested but curious about the kittens in current foster carers house,
Dog Scope : not tested
Child scope: not suitable for a home with children

About:

Wanted – a very special human with lots of love and patience to give!

Jagger and Jewell were found on the street. They are still quite scared of humans but with time and patience they are slowly coming around.

When settled Jewell is the confident one of the pair. She greets her human every morning and is quite chatty and will come for a pat and a scratch and is becoming comfortable with being brushed. Its been a slow journey for her to trust and in time she may become a lap cat but this will take a significant amount of time and patient.

Jagger is a big boy but was very good for our amazing vet allowing him to bring him out of his carrier and weigh him. He is the more timid of the pair but will sit and watch his human. He is not at the stage where he will allow pats but is very curious about the goings on in his current foster home. Jagger and Jewell rely on each other so need to be adopted together. Are you that special person?

Jameson – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Jameson
DOB: 03/04/2024
Gender: Male
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $185
Location: Carina Heights
Snuggle scope: Loves cuddles when he’s not busy playing
Cat scope: OK with correct introduction
Dog scope: Untested but should be OK with correct introduction
Child scope: Good with calm, gentle children

About:

This little tux had such a tough start to life but you wouldn’t know it. He has personality plus and is loved by everyone that meets him.

Jameson came into care after living rough. He was very underweight, with terrible cat flu so struggled to breathe and had such bad conjunctivitis that he had no vision. He had likely never seen a human but this didn’t stop him from being a complete snuggle monster. It also didn’t stop him from climbing & exploring either, even though he was so sick and had absolutely no energy.

He had eye surgery to correct his third eyelid which was stuck to his cornea, reflecting how long he had been unwell. The surgery was thankfully successful, showing his beautiful cheeky eyes, although a little of this third eyelid is visible in the corner of his eyes. This doesn’t impact him and we think it just adds to his charm.

Jameson has grown into a very confident, cheeky kitten that loves to climb, play, and chase his siblings. He loves food and is the first one looking for food and often the last one eating, particularly if his siblings don’t eat all of their meal.

When he wants attention, he makes a cute ‘chirp’ and does love cuddles when there isn’t something more exciting to do like eat or play.
