Gloria & Pippa – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Gloria and Pippa
DOB: Gloria 08/07/2017
DOB: Pippa 10/01/2020
Gender: Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $280
Location: Chermside West
Snuggle scope: Prefer your company then snuggles
Cat scope: Untested
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Suited to older children
Vet work: Completed
Booster Due: Now

About:

Gloria and Pippa came into care from a hoarding situation with multiple other cats and sadly had minimal socialisation with humans. Fast forward a year and they are inseparable, still cautious of humans and prefer your company and to be near you, over cuddles and snuggles.
These two are quite the pair. Joined at the hip, it is incredibly soothing and therapeutic to watch them snuggle together, groom each other and nap on top of each other. Both are very inquisitive and love to know their human isn’t far away.
Pippa has the most beautiful, wide eyes. She is a real lady. Delicate, smaller, soft and gentle. Gloria is curious and playful and follows Pippa’s lead. They love nothing more than to be patted at the same time, and enjoy sleeps on the couch.
They really are best friends and keep each other company. They are quiet and low maintenance. They are just lovely. You could very easily lose track of time (I definitely have!) watching them chill and dream together.

Hazel – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:
Name: Hazel
DOB: 10 October 2015
Sex: Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption fee: $159
Location: Spring Hill
Snuggle scope: Cuddly
Cat scope: Wary of bigger cats and will growl
Dog scope: Untested, but probably wary
Child scope: Untested but would be fine
Vet work: Completed
Annual booster due: 3/4/21

About:

Sweetpea. Chumbly-bum. Sugarsnap. Crazy Hazy.
You want nicknames? Hazel inspires them all.
This gorgeous cinnamon tabby girl is an absolute delight, and will make her future owner a beautiful, adventurous and funny pet.
She is on the smaller side for an adult cat, but has the most scrumptiously plump belly, and is still very kittenish in nature – bouncy, fearless and inquisitive.
Hazel was rescued from death row at the Warwick pound around Christmas 2015, and has lived with her foster carer ever since. Her brother Harry got adopted in late 2016, but she lives in relative harmony with her other foster siblings Crystal, Micah and Tyson.
Hazel would adapt well to a household with other cats as she loves to chase, run, jump and play, but may need some time and patience to adjust. She eats well and uses her litter perfectly, and loves to clamber up scratching poles or up onto high places.
Hazel is not a lap cat, and doesn’t like to be picked up for too long – she’s too busy exploring. However, she loves to sleep on your bed with you, and loves your attention during play time. She goes absolutely nuts over dangling bird toys – she will pursue them until she pants! If you are adopting her as a solo cat, you will need to spend good quality interactive time with her.
Crazy Hazy has been an indoor cat her whole life, and as she has a strong chase drive, needs to be kept indoors to avoid running off and following external distractions. She is untested with dogs, but may learn to live with them given careful introduction.
Note: Hazel’s future forever owner must be willing to stay in contact with her foster carer Natalie, who has a big place in her heart for this funny little girl, and will want to see photos of her flourishing in her new home.

About:

This gorgeous tuxedo boy is always dressed to impress! His favourite things in the world are food, hanging with his feline friends and having a chat! A timid kitty at first, he needs a confident feline friend to show him how pampered he can be by the humans. He loves to spend his days curled up with his foster brother and sister having cat naps. Although an adult he can still run around like a kitten but will than curl up on your bed or couch! Still a little intimidated by big tall humans, he loves a pat but only when his carer is sitting or lying down but once the pats start he loves them. He also enjoys a good chat and is definitely one of the more vocal cats in the house.
Beautiful Jace will flourish in the right home and just needs the right family to come along and give him a chance.

Jax – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Jax
DOB: 1/7/2018
Gender: Male
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $159
Location: Camp Hill
Snuggle scope: Loves attention

Dog scope: Not Tested
Child scope: Not Tested but would be fine
Vetwork: complete
Booster due: 15/08/21
MEDICAL NOTE:
Jax has FIV – FIV is a slow-progressing virus that can compromise a cat’s immune system, reducing its ability to fight off illnesses. The virus has a long latent period then progresses so slowly that it may never affect a cat. That’s why long-term studies show that FIV cats can live just as long and as healthy, and ultimately die of the same causes as Non-FIV cats.
Jax came into care with a broken Pelvis, which has now healed with correct vet care.

About:

Jax is a true little gentleman, who will escort you room to room to make sure you’re safe. He enjoys long pats and having his stunning coat brushed, to look good for you. He loves nothing better than to sit with you on the lounge while you’re watching movies, if to do nothing but hold your hand. As a typical male the way to Jax’s heart is through his belly. The only thing in return that this chilled out gentleman will ask of you, is that he is the only feline in your life.

Jemima – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Jemima
DOB: 1/7/19
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic short hair
Adoption Fee: $159
Location: Surfers Paradise
Snuggle scope: Once she is settled, she loves lots of pats and head boops
Cat scope: Used to other cats, best suited to another calm adult cat
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Okay with kids over 10
Vet work: Complete
Annual booster due: 13/08/21

About:

Jemima is a timid cat with so much love to give to a patient and loving adopter.
While initially very standoffish and frightened, with time and patience Jemima’s true colours show that she is a through and through sook who adores attention! She is a very tidy girl, and she loves to either spend time on the sofa right next to you, or snooze under the coffee table while she waits for you to come home.
Jemima’s favourite parts of the day are when you get home from work, dish out her breakfast or dinner, and when you sit down to read or watch Netflix. She will show her enthusiasm for these activities with the cutest kitten meow and a happy question mark tail. Once you have Jemima’s trust, it is purr central and is the most rewarding sound in the world.
Jemima has come a very long way since coming into foster care, but she needs a cat-savvy home where she can have the space and love she needs to grow. She is still easily startled and as such is not suitable for a home with young children. She is used to having other cats around to bolster her confidence and her ideal home will have 1-2 other calm adult cats who are happy to share space but stay out of her face.
Winning Jemima’s love means winning a companion for life who will always look to you with big loving eyes and a giant purr to make the day’s troubles melt away.

Jojo may take a little time to settle into new surroundings but will make up for it soon enough with lots of love. He has had quite a few moves recently so we would love to find him the perfect home to call his own. They would prefer a home without children however older gentle children may be ok.
Jojo is a typical siamese who is full of chattiness and love to have a good old conversation with you in between endless snuggles and smooches. He will need a home without other animals. Jojo is currently with his sister and is used to her companionship. However they are independent souls so can be separated for the right families.
Jojo will be bossy and pick on other animals. He is full of confidence and has an outgoing personality. Jojo would love an outdoor enclosure as enjoys spending time safely outside in the fresh air but so long as he has plenty of space he will adapt to having no access to an outside enclosure again but again will need to be retrained so he doesn’t try to dart out the door when opened.

Katie – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Katie
DOB : 25/03/2020
Gender : Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $159
Location: Woodridge
Snuggle scope: likes to snuggle at bed time
Cat scope: excellent after initial introductions – needs a feline friend
Dog scope: Not a fan
Child scope : Suited to a home with no children
Vet work: Complete
First vaccination: 20.05.2020
Booster Due : 15.04.2022
Medical note – Katie has allergic skin disease. She is allergic to some types of food. She has responded really well to her special diet and will need to be careful with what she eats for her whole life.

About:

Katie was adopted from BFF as a baby but was returned due to her suffering allergies.
She has had quite a bit of upheaval over the last 12mths which has caused her to be initially very shy and cautious of new people. Once trust had been established she is an extremely playful and outgoing young lady. Katie adores playtime and is happiest with playmates of similar size.
Katie has lived in multiple cat households and as a solo cat, and she is happier with feline company where she can go crazy in cat play and tumble. If Katie is left alone for long periods she can get lonely and as such finds herself getting into mischievous situations.
Katie loves her food, but most food does not agree with her, giving her skin allergies – we have been able to find a low preservative diet that agrees with her allergies diet that is not cost-prohibitive. However, her siblings’ food is most definitely off-limits.
Katie loves to sleep alongside foster mum every night, or in a spot of sunlight during the day. Katie can be very high energy, so playtime is a must for her to expend energy.
Katie has displayed reactions to most preventative flea treatments, but vet Dr Shane has advised she can live in a multi-cat household untreated if other cats/pets are medicated with flea prevention. Katie is untested with small children, however, Katie can get frustrated with unwanted attention, and as such small children environment would not be recommended. When Katie is stressed she will exhibit mild cat flu symptoms like sneezing and watery eyes, although fully vaccinated – this will be an ongoing condition for her.

Breed: DSH
Gender: Female
Location: Ferny Grove
Adoption Fee: $159
Snuggle Scope: Not a fan of being held, but can be picked up
Cat Scope: Fine with slow introduction
Dog Scope: Fine with slow introduction
Child Scope: Untested, but older gentle children 10+ years
Vet Work: Completed
Booster Vaccination Due: 11/11/2021
Leave care date: Now

About:

Leila is a friendly and funny girl. She will come running as you enter the room, wrapping herself around your legs and then flopping to the floor and stretching out, inviting lots of patting, chin scratches and belly rubs (which she very rarely objects to). Although craving the attention from her carer, Leila can be wary of newcomers/strangers and will run and hide herself away. But with the temptation of treats and a toy, it doesn’t take her long to come out and play.
Leila is a stunning black panther, and her coat is shiny and soft with the occasional bit of white fur poking through. She loves to play, and her antics continue to bemuse her carer daily, and she enjoys living life to the fullest.
Leila also loves her food, and will head bop your hand and weave and brush up against you as if to say ‘hurry up I am starving’ if you are slow to put food into her bowl.
Leila loves to chase small soft balls, and will jump up and catch them, swat them around and could be the next Olympic Soccer Goalkeeper with her skills. Leila also loves to run back and forth through the tunnel, chasing the balls or anything else that is thrown through.
When it is time to rest, she would appreciate a well-placed cat tree or a windowsill/doorway where she can go and watch the world go by.

Leylani – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Leylani
DOB: 25/06/2020
Breed: DSH
Gender: Female
Location: Ferny Grove
Adoption Fee: $159
Snuggle Scope: Not there yet, but improving daily
Cat Scope: Fine with slow introductions.
Dog Scope: Fine with slow introductions
Child Scope: Untested. Older gentle children 10+ years as still unsure of human
Vet Work: Completed
Booster Vaccination Due: 12/12/2021
Medical Note: Leylani came into care, suffering severe gingivitis. After several rounds of antibiotics, the decision was made to do a full extraction. This has cleared up the infection, but regular monitoring should be carried out.

About:

Leylani (Lani for short), when she first came into care, was scared and in severe pain. She would, when approached, lash out. She would hide wherever she could, hissing and indicating to not come any closer. However, when there was just her and her sister Leila, she would come out and they would play.
Lani is, very interested in playing with the toys, wand toys/ bouncy balls and her favourite the red dot tower. She plays very gently, when she can put aside her fear of humans, and is interested in any game that is being played.
Now that her teeth have been removed, Lani eats without pain, but is a little slow. So softer foods with no large chunks of meat are best. Creamy treats and small dry treats are her vice, and she will happily munch on dry biscuits until she can swallow them.
She will now play, when in the openness of the whole house, play with the tunnels and balls, bottle caps and cardboard rolls, with her sister, when the humans aren’t around.

Date expected to Leave Care: mid-December

About:

Marley and you?
This little lady, like her musical namesake is one pretty cool cat. She loves spending her days chilling out, looking out windows, watching the world go by.
She likes meeting new people and sidles up quickly for one of her favourite things in the world, a head scratch. In the evenings her favourite spots are by her human on the lounge or curled up at the end of the bed. Marley hasn’t shown much interest in laps, but with summer coming, who needs a lap warmer anyway. She does though love being nearby and will reward you with the sweetest little meow, or a lovely loud purr.
Marley is learning the wonders of play and has quite a workout chasing toys on sticks. She’ll often roll over to show her beautiful belly, but don’t fall into the trap of thinking she wants a belly rub, it’s her favourite game, grabbing any unsuspecting hand (gently of course).
Marley is an undemanding, sweet, relaxed girl who is responding very well to care. She will no doubt continue to blossom when she finds her forever people to show her the love that was missing from her last home.

Micah – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:
Name: Micah
Age: 19/11/14
Sex: Male
Breed: Domestic short hair
Adoption fee: $159
Location : Spring Hill
Snuggle scope: A recovering timid cat, Micah avoids contact unless it’s on his terms, which is generally when you’re lying down so he feels secure.
Cat scope: Has been fostered with his sister and other kittens. Has become more curious as he’s developed confidence, will occasionally get into spats.
Dog scope: Untested, but would be cautious. He would probably get used to them as long as he could have his own space, but it would take time.
Kid scope: Untested, but would probably better suit older kids.
Vet work: Desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea-treated, wormed.
Annual booster due 27/4/21

About:

Micah and his sister Crystal came into care very timid and wary of humans. Micah spent the first month with his current foster carer hiding in a gap under her bathroom sink, only coming out at night. These days, Micah loves good cuddles and scratches, but only on his terms. He likes to jump up next to you when you’re lying in bed, as he finds the height of humans looming over him intimidating. But once he’s used to you, you will find Micah a lovely early morning companion, as he sidles up next to you for some special one-on-one time.
While he has made extraordinary progress in the last six months, his perfect owner will need to be big-hearted and very understanding of his quirks, as he will likely never be a snuggly lap cat. He has grown much more used to humans being around, but is still quick to flee to a safe space at the sound of loud noises or sudden movements. He’s still learning to play, but enjoys chasing a laser light, or batting light objects around the floor.
Micah’s foster carer is so proud of how far he’s come since those terrified early days. She can’t wait to see him in a forever home with someone who will bond with this complicated but charming cat.

Vet work: Completed
Booster Due: 23/12/2020

About:

Before joining BFF all Miracle ever knew was cruelty and neglect, but she’s slowly learning humans can also be kind.

She’s a very friendly and inquisitive girl, and she likes to follow you around the house and watch what you’re doing.

Miracle is very timid but once you’ve earned her love and trust she will reward you with the most amazing snuggles and smooches.

Even though she’s an adult cat she is still very much a kitten at heart and loves to play and chase and explore the house.

Miracle is a very special girl and will need someone who is loving and patient while she learns that family life and people can be good.

Morchella – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Morchella
DOB: 19/05/2020
Breed: DSH
Gender: male
Adoption fee: $179
Location: Carindale
Snuggle Scope: Super smooch
Cat Scope: Needs a cat friend
Child Scope: Untested
Dog Scope: OK
Vet Work: complete
Booster due: 4/12/2021

About:

Morchella is glossy black and has the most beautiful face and expressive gorgeous green-amber eyes. Morchella started out as an unsocialized kitten, but you’d never know that now – he is now king of laps and ruler of the lounge! He loves to sleep on the lounge and snuggle up against your legs purring his little heart out. He loves lots of pats and cuddles and curls up (or stretches out) on laps for a nap. He loves to flop and roll around – his favorite way to ask for cuddles is to catch your eye and flop chin up! When he gets going Morchella has the most heart-warming purr that’s hard to stop and he has trouble staying upright while he rolls and flops for cuddles and reaches his head out for rubs when the patting hand is withdrawn. While Morchella would prefer to keep his feet on the ground he’s fine with being picked for short periods of time – such as if you need to move him to be able to fit on the lounge – if you dare move the comfortable kitty!
Morchella may be a little nervous around new cats at first, but he loves having a feline friend. His bestie at the moment is his sister Truffles, who he loves to lay with or on, or ask her to groom him by shoving his head into her – he’s really just a big baby who loves having a friend or two.
Morchella has blossomed into a very handsome and cuddly young cat, and his carers adore seeing how much of a confident love bug he has become. However, he can still be a bit nervous around strangers at first.

Gender: Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $159
Location: Lawnton
Snuggle Scope: Is learning to trust her humans
Cat Scope: Okay with other cats with proper introduction
Dog Scope: Okay with small dogs with proper introduction
Child Scope: Untested, but better suited to older and gentle children
Vet Work: Complete
Annual Vaccination due: 13/10/2021

About:

Miss Mouse is a gorgeous and petite little grey and white tabby girl who has come so far since being in foster care. When we first met her, she would cower in a corner and did not trust humans at all. With months of patience and love, Miss Mouse has slowly started coming out of her shell and showing off her true nature.
Despite making significant progress with socialising, Mouse is not a lap cat or one to crave the attention and affection of her humans. Mouse will coexist very happily with her humans, and enjoys spending time curled up on the end of the bed and watching you as you go about your day. Extra special humans may get to pat Miss Mouse, or may even get an elusive head bop, but this comes with time and trust. Miss Mouse does however, respond to food and treats and this will aid with her progress.
Miss Mouse is looking for a special human with time and patience, who will work slowly and gently to gain her trust. Her ideal home will have a human home a lot for company, another feline friend to show her the ropes and no scary little kids to frighten her.

About:

Noelle is a beautiful special girl with a lovely soft fluffy coat that she LOVES being brushed.
She came into care from a less than ideal situation aged at about 5 years of age. Unfortunately, she had a variety of health issues, a mouth full of rotten teeth, dodgy hips and having seizures. But even with all her problems she has always been a very happy and independent little girl.
Since being in care, she has had ALL her teeth out is on daily medication to help with the seizures and been desexed. Through all her treatments she has continued to thrive and turn into a very happy chirping loving the good life girl.
She has discovered the joys of a lovely soft cuddly blanket and the constant supply of yummy food. Noelle is what we call bomb proof, nothing seems to faze our little foxy girl, other cats, dogs even renovations happening around her! While she is not overly fond of being picked up and cuddled, Noelle will follow you around making her unusual chirping sounds until you provide her favorite ear rubs and scratches.
Noelle is a happy independent girl, she will happily spend her days sleeping on her favorite blanket and chair, or relaxing on the cat tree watching the world go by or happily under your feet when you are in the most special room in the house…..the kitchen!
She is a cheeky, not scared of anything type of girl, with a bit of sass and attitude thrown in, which makes for a purrfect companion.
Are you the one to love Miss Noelle for the rest of her life?
