Gloria – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Gloria
DOB: 08/07/2017
Gender: Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $149
Location: Yandina
Snuggle scope: Does not like to be picked up but is learning pats are OK
Cat scope: Loves the other foster i have but unsure of other cats
Dog scope: Not a fan of dogs
Child scope: Untested. As she is timid she would not suit a home with children
Vetwork: complete
Booster due: 29/09/2021

About:

Gloria came into care from a hoarding situation with multiple other cats and had sadly had minimal socialisation with humans. When she first arrived into care she was heavily pregnant and very distrusting of humans. Gloria is still timid, and needs time and space to settle, and would suit a person home a lot to be able to put the work into making her comfortable with humans and her surroundings.
Gloria is curious about what you are doing and will sit and watch you. When she trusts you she comes for a pat and will sit near you. She has a few quirks which are easy to deal with. Given time and space to settle she will be a great companion for someone.

Hazel – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:
Name: Hazel
DOB: 10 October 2015
Sex: Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption fee: $149
Location: Spring Hill
Snuggle scope: Cuddly
Cat scope: Wary of bigger cats and will growl
Dog scope: Untested, but probably wary
Child scope: Untested but would be fine
Vet work: Completed
Annual booster due: 3/4/21

About:

Sweetpea. Chumbly-bum. Sugarsnap. Crazy Hazy.
You want nicknames? Hazel inspires them all.
This gorgeous cinnamon tabby girl is an absolute delight, and will make her future owner a beautiful, adventurous and funny pet.
She is on the smaller side for an adult cat, but has the most scrumptiously plump belly, and is still very kittenish in nature – bouncy, fearless and inquisitive.
Hazel was rescued from death row at the Warwick pound around Christmas 2015, and has lived with her foster carer ever since. Her brother Harry got adopted in late 2016, but she lives in relative harmony with her other foster siblings Crystal, Micah and Tyson.
Hazel would adapt well to a household with other cats as she loves to chase, run, jump and play, but may need some time and patience to adjust. She eats well and uses her litter perfectly, and loves to clamber up scratching poles or up onto high places.
Hazel is not a lap cat, and doesn’t like to be picked up for too long – she’s too busy exploring. However, she loves to sleep on your bed with you, and loves your attention during play time. She goes absolutely nuts over dangling bird toys – she will pursue them until she pants! If you are adopting her as a solo cat, you will need to spend good quality interactive time with her.
Crazy Hazy has been an indoor cat her whole life, and as she has a strong chase drive, needs to be kept indoors to avoid running off and following external distractions. She is untested with dogs, but may learn to live with them given careful introduction.
Note: Hazel’s future forever owner must be willing to stay in contact with her foster carer Natalie, who has a big place in her heart for this funny little girl, and will want to see photos of her flourishing in her new home.

A timid kitty at first, he needs a confident feline friend to show him how pampered he can be by the humans. He loves to spend his days curled up with his foster brother and sister having cat naps. Although an adult he can still run around like a kitten but will than curl up on your bed or couch! Still a little intimidated by big tall humans, he loves a pat but only when his carer is sitting or lying down but once the pats start he loves them. Jax – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Jax
DOB: 1/7/2018
Gender: Male
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $149
Location: Camp Hill
Snuggle scope: Loves attention

Dog scope: Not Tested
Child scope: Not Tested but would be fine
Vetwork: complete
Booster due: 15/08/21
MEDICAL NOTE:
Jax has FIV – FIV is a slow-progressing virus that can compromise a cat’s immune system, reducing its ability to fight off illnesses. The virus has a long latent period then progresses so slowly that it may never affect a cat. That’s why long-term studies show that FIV cats can live just as long and as healthy, and ultimately die of the same causes as Non-FIV cats.
Jax came into care with a broken Pelvis, which has now healed with correct vet care.

About:

Jax is a true little gentleman, who will escort you room to room to make sure you’re safe. He enjoys long pats and having his stunning coat brushed, to look good for you. He loves nothing better than to sit with you on the lounge while you’re watching movies, if to do nothing but hold your hand. As a typical male the way to Jax’s heart is through his belly. The only thing in return that this chilled out gentleman will ask of you, is that he is the only feline in your life.

Jemima – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Jemima
DOB: 1/7/19
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic short hair
Adoption Fee: $149
Location: Surfers Paradise
Snuggle scope: Once she is settled, she loves lots of pats and head boops
Cat scope: Used to other cats, best suited to another calm adult cat
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Okay with kids over 10
Vet work: Complete
Annual booster due: 13/08/21

About:

Jemima is a timid cat with so much love to give to a patient and loving adopter.
While initially very standoffish and frightened, with time and patience Jemima’s true colours show that she is a through and through sook who adores attention! She is a very tidy girl, and she loves to either spend time on the sofa right next to you, or snooze under the coffee table while she waits for you to come home.
Jemima’s favourite parts of the day are when you get home from work, dish out her breakfast or dinner, and when you sit down to read or watch Netflix. She will show her enthusiasm for these activities with the cutest kitten meow and a happy question mark tail. Once you have Jemima’s trust, it is purr central and is the most rewarding sound in the world.
Jemima has come a very long way since coming into foster care, but she needs a cat-savvy home where she can have the space and love she needs to grow. She is still easily startled and as such is not suitable for a home with young children. She is used to having other cats around to bolster her confidence and her ideal home will have 1-2 other calm adult cats who are happy to share space but stay out of her face.
Winning Jemima’s love means winning a companion for life who will always look to you with big loving eyes and a giant purr to make the day’s troubles melt away.

Jock – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Jock
DOB: 09/04/2020
Gender: Male
Breed: DSH
Adoption Fee: $149
Location: Lawnton
Snuggle Scope: Is very affectionate
Cat Scope: Loves other cats
Dog Scope: Loves small dogs
Child Scope: Gets along with the occasional tiny human house guests
Vet Work: Complete
Annual Vaccination due: 13/08/2021
Medical Notes:
1. Jock has a congenital eye condition called eyelid agenesis, where his eyelid has not completely formed on his right eye. The biggest risk with eyelid agenesis is that the lash layer grows in towards the cornea of the eye, causing ulcers and scaring. As a kitten, Jock had a severe ulcer on his affected eye that has since mostly healed. He has also undergone two surgeries to remove the eyelashes that can cause irritation and ulceration with a specialist vet. Due to the severity of his condition the specialist vet believes that Jock’s vision is affected, however this does not impact his day to day life. Jock will need to have his eye closely monitored for irritation, as the lash line may grow back in some instances.
2. Jock also has a Grade 4 Heart Murmur. This was investigated by a specialist cardiologist and found to be an ‘innocent murmur’, and requires no intervention at this time. This will be something that Jock’s new family will need to keep an eye on at annual vet checks.

About:

Jock is a gorgeous, sweet and loving little man with a heart of pure gold. He had a soft and fluffy black and white coat, with little white socks. Jock absolutely loves his humans, and is very partial to cuddle time whether you’re ready for him or not!
Jock is quite a large cat, and is well over 4kg at about 9 months of age. Like many growing lads, he is ruled by his stomach and is very willing to accept any and all treats. He is a very social boy, and enjoys having a chat with you if he wants some attention. He also makes friends with all the resident animals, and will take turns at grooming and playing with his furry siblings in his foster house.
Jock will need a special home with another fur friend to keep him company and use up his energy. A human that is around a lot for cuddles is an added bonus. Jock has some complex medical notes that come with his adoption profile, and will need a caring

Leila – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Leila
DOB: 14/05/2020
Breed: DSH
Gender: Female
Location: Ferny Grove
Adoption Fee: $149
Snuggle Scope: Not a fan of being held, but can be picked up
Cat Scope: Fine with slow introduction
Dog Scope: Fine with slow introduction
Child Scope: Untested, but older gentle children 10+ years
Vet Work: Completed
Booster Vaccination Due: 11/11/2021
Leave care date: Now

About:

Leila is a friendly and funny girl. She will come running as you enter the room, wrapping herself around your legs and then flopping to the floor and stretching out, inviting lots of patting, chin scratches and belly rubs (which she very rarely objects to). Although craving the attention from her carer, Leila can be wary of newcomers/strangers and will run and hide herself away. But with the temptation of treats and a toy, it doesn’t take her long to come out and play.
Leila is a stunning black panther, and her coat is shiny and soft with the occasional bit of white fur poking through. She loves to play, and her antics continue to bemuse her carer daily, and she enjoys living life to the fullest.
Leila also loves her food, and will head bop your hand and weave and brush up against you as if to say ‘hurry up I am starving’ if you are slow to put food into her bowl.
Leila loves to chase small soft balls, and will jump up and catch them, swat them around and could be the next Olympic Soccer Goalkeeper with her skills. Leila also loves to run back and forth through the tunnel, chasing the balls or anything else that is thrown through.
When it is time to rest, she would appreciate a well-placed cat tree or a windowsill/doorway where she can go and watch the world go by.

Location: Mudgeeraba
Snuggle scope: Loves being nearby, but not a lap cat. Okay with being picked up.

Dog scope: unknown

Vet work: Vaccinated, Speyed, Microchipped
Date expected to Leave Care: mid-December
Booster Due : 14/12/2020

About:

Marley and you?
This little lady, like her musical namesake is one pretty cool cat. She loves spending her days chilling out, looking out windows, watching the world go by.
She likes meeting new people and sidles up quickly for one of her favourite things in the world, a head scratch. In the evenings her favourite spots are by her human on the lounge or curled up at the end of the bed. Marley hasn’t shown much interest in laps, but with summer coming, who needs a lap warmer anyway. She does though love being nearby and will reward you with the sweetest little meow, or a lovely loud purr.
Marley is learning the wonders of play and has quite a workout chasing toys on sticks. She’ll often roll over to show her beautiful belly, but don’t fall into the trap of thinking she wants a belly rub, it’s her favourite game, grabbing any unsuspecting hand (gently of course).
Marley is an undemanding, sweet, relaxed girl who is responding very well to care. She will no doubt continue to blossom when she finds her forever people to show her the love that was missing from her last home.

Micah – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:
Name: Micah
Age: 19/11/14
Sex: Male
Breed: Domestic short hair
Adoption fee: $149
Location : Spring Hill
Snuggle scope: A recovering timid cat, Micah avoids contact unless it’s on his terms, which is generally when you’re lying down so he feels secure.
Cat scope: Has been fostered with his sister and other kittens. Has become more curious as he’s developed confidence, will occasionally get into spats.
Dog scope: Untested, but would be cautious. He would probably get used to them as long as he could have his own space, but it would take time.
Kid scope: Untested, but would probably better suit older kids.
Vet work: Desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea-treated, wormed.
Annual booster due 27/4/21

About:

Micah and his sister Crystal came into care very timid and wary of humans. Micah spent the first month with his current foster carer hiding in a gap under her bathroom sink, only coming out at night. These days, Micah loves good cuddles and scratches, but only on his terms. He likes to jump up next to you when you’re lying in bed, as he finds the height of humans looming over him intimidating. But once he’s used to you, you will find Micah a lovely early morning companion, as he sidles up next to you for some special one-on-one time.
While he has made extraordinary progress in the last six months, his perfect owner will need to be big-hearted and very understanding of his quirks, as he will likely never be a snuggly lap cat. He has grown much more used to humans being around, but is still quick to flee to a safe space at the sound of loud noises or sudden movements. He’s still learning to play, but enjoys chasing a laser light, or batting light objects around the floor.
Micah’s foster carer is so proud of how far he’s come since those terrified early days. She can’t wait to see him in a forever home with someone who will bond with this complicated but charming cat.

Morchella – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Morchella
DOB: 19/05/2020
Breed: DSH
Gender: Male
Adoption fee: $149
Location: Carindale
Snuggle Scope: On his terms, or in a safe spot, but he is king of flop and roll.
Cat Scope: Loves a kitty friend, after intro
Child Scope: Untested
Dog Scope: OK, best with a calm dog
Vet Work: Complete
Booster due: 4/12/2021

About:

Morchella came into care very skinny and scared as part of the Mushroom litter. His litter had very little human exposure before coming into BFF care, and it’s taken some time for Morchella to realise that pats and cuddles are really good.
Morchella is glossy black and has the most beautiful face and expressive gorgeous green-amber eyes. Morchella has watched his siblings gain confidence and become cuddly and now it’s his turn to become brave and shine. It started as accepting pats on his favourite spot (a desk) and has turned into flopping and rolling around purring his heart out for pats when he sees someone coming towards him in his favourite spot. He is also loving pats in more and more places with a careful approach. When he gets going, Morchella has the most heart-warming purr that’s hard to stop and he has trouble staying upright while he rolls and flops for cuddles and reaches his head out for rubs when the patting hand is withdrawn. Morchella is still not very fond of being picked up and held, he’ll stick to wriggling around for pats!
Before he left for his new home, Morchella’s brother really helped him – Morchella is cuddlier when he has a friend (or sibling) to cuddle with and is much braver and more curious when he followed his more confident brother around to explore. Though he might be a little nervous at first, Morchella really does love having a feline friend around, and a confident friend would be awesome to help encourage his confidence to grow even faster. Morchella is ok around his carer’s large dog but would be best with a calm dog.
Morchella has blossomed into a very handsome and cuddly young cat, and his carers love seeing him get cuddlier and more confident. However, he is still very nervous around strangers, so will likely not want to interact much at meets just yet.

Adoption Fee: $149
Location: Lawnton
Snuggle Scope: Is learning to trust her humans

Annual Vaccination due: 13/10/2021

About:

Miss Mouse is a gorgeous and petite little grey and white tabby girl who has come so far since being in foster care. When we first met her, she would cower in a corner and did not trust humans at all. With months of patience and love, Miss Mouse has slowly started coming out of her shell and showing off her true nature.
Despite making significant progress with socialising, Mouse is not a lap cat or one to crave the attention and affection of her humans. Mouse will coexist very happily with her humans, and enjoys spending time curled up on the end of the bed and watching you as you go about your day. Extra special humans may get to pat Miss Mouse, or may even get an elusive head bop, but this comes with time and trust. Miss Mouse does however, respond to food and treats and this will aid with her progress.
Miss Mouse is looking for a special human with time and patience, who will work slowly and gently to gain her trust. Her ideal home will have a human home a lot for company, another feline friend to show her the ropes and no scary little kids to frighten her.

Medical note: As Noelle has a history of seizures, she is on daily medication to treat these and will need to remain on this medication. She will also need regular vet check-ups to ensure her medications are working effectively.
Noelle also has hip dysplasia and has had all of her teeth removed due to not being cared for prior to coming into care… (This doesn’t stop her loving her food though)

About:

Noelle is a beautiful special girl with a lovely soft fluffy coat that she LOVES being brushed.
She came into care from a less than ideal situation aged at about 5 years of age. Unfortunately, she had a variety of health issues, a mouth full of rotten teeth, dodgy hips and having seizures. But even with all her problems she has always been a very happy and independent little girl.
Since being in care, she has had ALL her teeth out is on daily medication to help with the seizures and been desexed. Through all her treatments she has continued to thrive and turn into a very happy chirping loving the good life girl.
She has discovered the joys of a lovely soft cuddly blanket and the constant supply of yummy food. Noelle is what we call bomb proof, nothing seems to faze our little foxy girl, other cats, dogs even renovations happening around her! While she is not overly fond of being picked up and cuddled, Noelle will follow you around making her unusual chirping sounds until you provide her favorite ear rubs and scratches.
Noelle is a happy independent girl, she will happily spend her days sleeping on her favorite blanket and chair, or relaxing on the cat tree watching the world go by or happily under your feet when you are in the most special room in the house…..the kitchen!
She is a cheeky, not scared of anything type of girl, with a bit of sass and attitude thrown in, which makes for a purrfect companion.
Are you the one to love Miss Noelle for the rest of her life?

Olive – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:
Name: Olive
Age: 10/03/2017
Sex: Female
Breed: DSH
Adoption fee: $149
Location: Upper Kedron
Snuggle scope: Love pats and scratches but is not a fan of being picked up.
Cat scope: Gets along well with his foster family cats
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope : Untested
Vet work: complete
Vacc Due: 25/08/2020

About:

Olive came into care with her two other sisters, Ginger and Pickles.

Olive, like her sisters was extremely timid and is still learning to adapt to the life of a much loved house cat. While she LOVES scratches and pats, she doesn’t believe in the Gospel according to Hugs.

Olive is very curious and loves to find new places to explore – she is truly the master of hide and seek!

While ok with her foster mum, Olive is still very timid with new people, often hiding when visitors come over.

Olive still has a long way to go in order to feel truly like the domestic princess she is, but we’re sure that patience and lots of love from the right family will be all she needs to be a great companion.
