Cosette – Female Ragdoll

Adoption Profile:

Name: Cosette
DOB: 16/4/2023
Gender: Female
Breed: Ragdoll
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Ipswich
Snuggle scope: Loves to be patted, in time will likely be more snuggly as she continues to settle in
Cat scope: Cosette is currently being introduced to her foster siblings so it’s not known for sure yet whether she gets along with other cats but she seems ok with quiet cats
Dog scope: Potentially fine with slow introductions
Child scope: Potentially fine with slow introductions

About:

Cosette was recently surrendered to BFF after her owner couldn’t care for her anymore.

Cosette is quiet but affectionate, loves to be patted and is becoming more cuddly the more she settles in at her carer’s house. She is a dainty little lady with an equally eloquent meow which she likes to use to politely request pats. She is happy to be with her carer but also content chilling on her own.

Cosette is getting used to her foster siblings but this will take time as does any new introduction between kitty siblings! She is a quiet girl so a home with quiet cats would likely be better for her.

If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, affectionate little companion who will happily accept affection and like being near you but also happy to chill on her own sometimes then Cosette might just be the kitty for you.

There is so much to say about Dublin, that it is hard to put into words. This absolute sweet boy has had many challenges thrown his way since arriving into care in very poor condition.

Yet what stands out about Dublin is his beautiful and funny quirks. He has so much love to give and will often come and cuddle up on a lap, or spend time watching his carers earn money to buy him some lovely food. Speaking of food – this is Dublins FAVOURITE thing! He has zero manners and will do anything to get a bit of what you are eating.

He loves other cats, so much so he earned the nickname “Pappa Dubs” as would help look after the kittens in his foster home. He is shy at first in regard to new people, but once you know this sweet boy he will be an amazing companion.

Emmeline – Female DMH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Emmeline
DOB : 01/03/2023
Gender : Female
Breed: Domestic Medium hair
To Adopt : 200
Location: Bonogin Gold Coast
Snuggle scope: Learning that pats and cuddles are OK
Cat scope: Great with all the cats and kittens in her foster home.
Dog scope: Is unphased by the small dog in her foster home
Child scope : Untested but would be better suited to older children because small children would frighten her

About:

Emmeline (Em) came into care with her two sisters (Crystabelle and Sylvia) – all three of them were heavily pregnant at only 8 months old.

The three sisters all gave birth within 2 weeks of each other – Em gave birth to 7 babies, unfortunately they were premature and they all passed away. However Em stepped up to help her sisters with their babies so still got to be a mumma, and she was such a sweet mumma.

All the kittens have now found amazing homes, now it’s time for the mummas to find their families.

Em is an absolutely stunning looking lady with her glorious coat in many shades of grey, and her slightly flat face which indicates a possible Persian mix in her heritage somewhere.

She is a very sweet but nervous girl. She will happy sleep on your bed and accept pats, but if you are standing up and you try to approach her, she will get scared and run away.

She needs a loving and patient home with people who are happy to spend time showing Em that she is safe and loved, and in return you will be rewarded with the love from the sweetest girl.

Being such a young mother Em has never really had a chance to be a kitten. Shes slowly learning how to play with toys which is beautiful to see.

Em loves her sisters, and is great with the other cats in the household. She needs to be adopted either with one of her sisters, or into a home with an existing friendly cat.

The Austrazole needs to be applied liberally to his skin twice a week.

About:

Introducing the handsome Galahad.

This bundle of floof is just the sweetest guy you will ever meet. He may have RGF (resting grumpy face haha) but he is the furthest thing from grumpy.

This little man will greet you at the end of the day with his big eyes, goofy smile, and a string of grumbles mixed in with a meow.

He has the funniest and most powerful meow I have ever heard on a cat. Even his vet laughs when he visits.

He has had a hard life, from being abandoned outside and left to fend for himself to becoming a cat of leisure who just loves to be with you. He also loves to chase his toy balls around the house.

He is great with children and lives happily with other cats. He would be a great solo cat (companion cat) or with another cat who isn’t dominant.

If Galahad sounds like your perfect match, arrange a meet’n’greet today!

Hartley – Male DMH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Hartley
DOB: 05/04/24
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Medium Hair
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Ipswich
Snuggle scope: Snuggly on his terms
Cat scope: Totally fine
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Untested

About:

Hartley is a stunning grey kitty with charming white socks, swirly fur patterns and adorable fluff in his ears.

He is a big boy who adores his food! He has a gentle demeanour and has come from a stressful, overcrowded rescue situation, which has made him a bit shy and prone to hiding when he is nervous.

Hartley has come a long way; while he is still timid when meeting new people once he is comfortable he is a snuggly boy. To get comfortable though he will need some time and patience but believe me this sweet gorgeous boy is totally worth it!

Hartley is not a lap cat but he has climbed into his carer’s lap briefly a couple of times so in time and patience it may happen. He generally is happy to sit close to you, watch you do what you do but happily accept attention whenever it’s on offer!

Harley loves watching birds outside the window and thinking of ways to catch them, sometimes he likes sometimes playing with his cat siblings and sometimes he likes to sleep.

While he has come from an overcrowded rescue situation Hartley thrives with other cats and would benefit greatly from having a feline companion in his new home to help him feel secure and show him the ropes while he is settling in.

If you’re ready to offer a nurturing environment and give Hartley the time he needs to come out of his shell, he’ll reward you with his sweet and loving nature as he begins to trust and bond with you.

Wanted – a very special human with lots of love and patience to give!

When settled Jewell is the confident one of the pair. She greets her human every morning and is quite chatty and will come for a pat and a scratch and is becoming comfortable with being brushed.

Its been a slow journey for her to trust and in time she may become a lap cat but this will take a significant amount of time and patient.

Jagger is a big boy but was very good for our amazing vet allowing him to bring him out of his carrier and weigh him.

He is the more timid of the pair but will sit and watch his human. He is not at the stage where he will allow pats but is very curious about the goings on in his current foster home.

Jemmy, another adorable kitty born in care.

Jemmy is just as cuddly and fun as Ruthie! She’s always up for a snuggle and loves being the center of attention.

But when it comes to playtime, Jemmy is all about chasing lasers and toys! It’s hilarious to watch her dart around, trying to catch those elusive beams and pouncing on his favorite toys. And you won’t believe it, but Jemmy is also quite the social butterfly. She loves hanging out with the big foster cats, learning from them, and even trying to keep up with their playful antics. Jemmy is such a bundle of joy and brings so much happiness to everyone around her

She is such an energetic little bundle of fur. She absolutely loves chasing after her sister and playing with her foster siblings. It’s like a non-stop game of tag around the house! Jericho – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Jericho
DOB: 31/01/2025
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Capalaba
Snuggle scope: Affectionate and I can be picked up
Cat scope:  Yes
Dog scope: Yes
Child scope: Gentle children yes
M
edical Notes: Jericho has mild cat flu that results in a drippy (and winky) eye at times. This might flare up slightly in times of stress ( moving house etc ) or at annual vaccinations.

About:

We call her Jeri!

It works best if you call it out loud, stretch it out like a song, announce her as she prances into the room! We celebrate her and she basks in the attention and the fact that she is utterly adored.

You will hear her chirps echo through the house if she can’t find you, you are important to her, to her, you are going to be her everything.

Her beginnings in this world were cruel and unforgiving, taking her mum and all but one of her siblings from her, you need to know she fought hard to be here. Her recovery has been slow, but we have never rushed her. It took time for her little body to start gaining strength, weight and growing, and her poor little eye sustained some injury.
Apart from her weepy eye, she has healed and she is full of love and confidence.

She loves to cuddle in bed, follow you into the shower, quietly play with her toys, sometimes she will just demand you pick her up so she can have a cuddle. She’s very smart and could easily be trained to jump to you and do other clever tricks.

She is incredibly social and passive with other cats and would be fine with a gentle, friendly dog. She’s very smart, loves kids and isn’t a cat that plays with her claws out. She is the type of young cat that would suit any family dynamic as long as her safety is always maintained.

It has been our pleasure and honour to have been part of Jeri’s story, and we can’t wait to meet the family that fall in love with her story.

Josie is a beautiful grey tabby with the most delicate presence.

She came into Best Friends Felines care as a very young kitten after being found alone on an industrial site – a frightening start for a tiny cat, and one that shaped her gentle, cautious nature.

Josie is extremely shy. And we mean truly shy. For much of her time in care, she has chosen the safety of hiding places – spending months under the bed, with her foster carer only catching the occasional glimpse once the house was quiet and the lights were off.

She is not a cat who rushes trust. She takes her time, observes carefully, and moves forward only when she feels safe.

Over the past few months with her current foster family, Josie has begun to take small but meaningful steps forward. She’s starting to share space with her foster humans and is slowly learning that hands can be kind and homes can be safe.

What Josie does love – deeply – is the company of other cats. She finds comfort and confidence in her feline friends and especially enjoys spending time with her foster siblings, particularly her brother, Whyte. Cats are her security blanket.

And when night falls? That’s when Josie truly comes alive.

Under the cover of darkness, she becomes braver and more playful. You’ll hear her chasing her foster siblings, batting toys across the floor, and quietly enjoying the simple joy of being a cat – just without an audience.

Josie will need a very patient, understanding human who will allow her to settle in on her own terms, without pressure or expectations. She would thrive in a quiet home with one or more friendly cats, where she can draw confidence from her companions and feel secure as she slowly builds trust.

She may never be a bold, outgoing cat – but once she feels safe, Josie will be a loyal, gentle presence, quietly choosing you in her own way.

She loves her food, has impeccable litter habits, and asks for nothing more than time, safety, and kindness.

Katie – Female DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Katie
DOB: 25/03/2020
Gender: Female
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Adoption Fee: $200
Location: Marsden
Snuggle scope: Likes to snuggle at bed time
Cat scope: Excellent after initial introductions – needs a feline friend
Dog scope: Not suitable
Child scope: Suited to a home with no children
Medical note: Katie has an allergic skin disease. She is allergic to some types of food. She has responded really well to her special diet and will need to be careful with what she eats for her whole life.

About:

Katie was adopted from BFF as a baby but was returned due to her suffering allergies.

She has had quite a bit of upheaval in her life which has caused her to be initially very shy and cautious of new people. Once trust had been established she is an extremely playful and outgoing young lady. Katie adores playtime and is happiest with playmates of similar size.

Katie has lived in multiple cat households and as a solo cat, and she is happier with feline company where she can go crazy in cat play and tumble. If Katie is left alone for long periods she can get lonely and as such finds herself getting into mischievous situations.

Katie loves her food, but most food does not agree with her, giving her skin allergies – we have been able to find a low preservative diet that agrees with her allergies diet that is not cost-prohibitive. However, her siblings’ food is most definitely off-limits.

Katie loves to sleep alongside foster mum every night, or in a spot of sunlight during the day. Katie can be very high energy, so playtime is a must for her to expend energy.

Katie has displayed reactions to most preventative flea treatments, but vet Dr Shane has advised she can live in a multi-cat household untreated if other cats/pets are medicated with flea prevention. Katie is untested with small children, however, Katie can get frustrated with unwanted attention, and as such small children environment would not be recommended. When Katie is stressed she will exhibit mild cat flu symptoms like sneezing and watery eyes, although fully vaccinated – this will be an ongoing condition for her.

Linkle – Male DSH

Adoption Profile:

Name: Linkle
DOB: 22/07/2024
Gender: Male
Breed: Domestic Short Hair
To Adopt: 200
Location: Kelvin Grove
Snuggle scope: It’s only early days but he is showing signs of a cat that just wants to be loved
Cat scope: Should be OK with correct introductions
Dog scope: Untested
Child scope: Should be OK with a slow introduction and gentle hands
Medical Note : Linkle is FIV positive, but don’t let old myths about FIV stop you from adopting this beautiful boy. FIV positive cats can co exist with other cats, as long as they’re all cat friendly, and live a long and healthy life

About:

Linkle has experienced more than a young cat should, but you wouldn’t know it.

This gentle, chilled ginger boy is only 18 months and even though life hasn’t started off well for him, he has a huge heart and has shown great courage.

He came into care alongside two young kittens, and it’s clear he’s been playing the role of their big brother. From day one, he’s been snuggling up to them, keeping them warm, and offering quiet comfort like a true little guardian.

You can see in Linkle’s face that life on the streets wasn’t easy, which makes it even more remarkable that he has made it his mission to look after his little charges.

He carries the signs of a tough start – but despite everything, this sweet boy still wants to trust. In fact, his carer was surprised when he was happy to play a game of cat footsies as soon as he arrived – even though he was nervous, this just shows how much love is still in his heart.

Each day, Linkle is becoming more relaxed and confident, and a little more open to the idea that humans can be kind.

Linkle loves staring at himself in mirrors, devouring tube treats and cuddling with his brothers.

He is no doubt a bit confused and unsettled after his rough start to life and sudden change of circumstances, but with patience, love, and a safe home, we know Linkle’s true colours are going to shine – and whoever gets to call him theirs will be very lucky indeed.
